National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), established under the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act (EMCA) No. 8 of 1999 is mandated to exercise general supervision and co-ordination over all matters relating to the environment in Kenya and to be the Principal Instrument of Government in the implementation of all policies relating to the environment.

The Authority invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the following vacant positions;

ENVIRONMENT ASSISTANT ( EAS )

Vacancy Reference: NEMA/MNG/EA/13/24
No. Required: 13

  1. Daily office maintenance;
  2. Receiving and dispatching Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Audits (EA) Reports;
  3. Notification of EIA reports due for reviewing and processing of licenses;
  4. Receiving and dispatching applications for various Licenses being processed by NEMA;
  5. Receiving and dispatching office mails;
  6. Assisting in compiling and summarizing of field reports;
  7. Registry maintenance;
  8. Assisting in field data collection, compilation and analysis when required.

Qualification

  1. Diploma in any of the following field; Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Management, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Natural Science or any other relevant field from a recognized inst.
  2. Proficiency in computer applications.

Terms of service

The positions are on permanent and pensionable terms of service.
