About Company

The Kericho County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent, self-driven, and qualified staff to fill the following positions in the Department of Health Services, pursuant to Article 176 of the Constitution of Kenya and the County Governments Act No. 17 of 2012.
1. KCPSB/2025/01: DENTIST, JOB GROUP M (2 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose common oral conditions, treat, prescribe, and refer.
- Carry out minor oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthetic, and conservative dentistry.
- Facilitate admission, disease investigations of patients, report writing, and assisting in theatre activities.
- Collect information on the dental health information system.
- Organize discharge summaries and follow-up of patients and act as the first on call.
- Identify commonly occurring medical emergencies and undertake the first line management of the emergency using appropriate techniques, equipment, and drugs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and national clinical policies relevant to the safe practice of dentistry.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
- Possess a valid practicing certificate from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Membership registration certificate from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Proficiency in computer applications.

2. KCPSB/2025/02: PHARMACIST, JOB GROUP ‘M’ (2 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Screen prescriptions for legal validity, drug contraindications, drug interactions, appropriateness of dose, frequency, and duration of dosing, and patient convenience.
- Prepare and dispense medicines according to good dispensing practices.
- Participate in ward rounds.
- Identify medicinal gaps and challenges.
- Maintain a daily activity logbook for recording all activities undertaken.
- Recommend over-the-counter medicines to patients/clients with simple medical conditions and make necessary referrals.
- Make entries into the relevant inventory management records and register.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (B.Pharm) from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificate by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Valid practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

3. KCPSB/2025/03: NURSING OFFICER, JOB GROUP ‘K’ (5 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide holistic care by carrying out risk identification and assessment of an individual throughout the lifespan.
- Perform a comprehensive physical examination within various settings.
- Assess, formulate, plan, and implement evidence-based nursing care for clients/patients.
- Create and maintain a safe nursing care environment for clients/patients.
- Carry out patient audits to improve client/patient care.
- Collaborate and maintain effective working relationships among interdisciplinary teams to support clients/patients and their families.
- Carry out therapeutic communication with the patient/client.
- Conduct community health risk assessments and provide outcome-based interventions.
- Document interventions and nursing outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement and quality assurance procedures.
- Diagnose common health conditions and recommend necessary interventions.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Science Degree in either Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.

4. KCPSB/2025/04: KENYA REGISTERED COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (25 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Provide appropriate healthcare services, including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, antenatal care, and delivery.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients/clients and the community on identified health needs.
- Refer patients and clients appropriately.
- Facilitate patients’ admission and initiate discharge plans.
- Maintain records on patients/clients’ health conditions and care.
- Ensure a tidy and safe clinical environment.
- Collect and compile data.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

5. KCPSB/2025/05: ENROLLED NURSE III, JOB GROUP ‘G’ (3 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess patients and clients and establish healthcare needs.
- Plan and implement nursing care interventions based on patients’/clients’ health needs.
- Provide appropriate healthcare services, including immunization, antenatal care, and delivery.
- Refer patients and clients appropriately.
- Evaluate healthcare outcomes on patients/clients and prepare individualized reports.
- Make appropriate discharge plans for patients.
- Conduct assessments of school health needs.
- Plan, implement interventions, and prepare periodic reports.
- Maintain records on patients/clients’ personal and health conditions/care.
- Ensure a tidy and safe clinical environment.
- Ensure safe custody of in-patients’ belongings.
- Conduct home visits, follow up on discharged patients/clients, and provide continuity of care.
- Treat minor ailments.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Certificate in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Enrolled Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Midwife, Kenya Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse/Midwife from a recognized training institution.
- Enrolment certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Kenya Constitution.

6. KCPSB/2025/06: MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (10 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Decontaminate working benches.
- Receive and scrutinize laboratory requisition forms and specimens.
- Prepare clients for the collection of specimens.
- Receive, collect, label, and register specimens.
- Disaggregate specimens for processing and analysis.
- Prepare reagents.
- Examine specimens.
- Write and record results.
- Dispatch results for use in clinical management.
- Prepare stains.
- Perform blood grouping.
- Issue blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities.
- Store blood products according to their requirements.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya National Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board.
- Registration certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
- Valid practicing license issued by KMLTTB.
- Certificate in computer skills from a recognized institution.

7. KCPSB/2025/07: ASSISTANT PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (10 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Mobilize, sensitize, and advise communities on matters related to environmental health.
- Refer health cases to relevant health facilities.
- Carry out immunization.
- Identify environmental health issues at the community level.
- Organize community health days to advise communities on common public health issues.
- Collect and maintain up-to-date records of services rendered.
- Assess the health needs of the community.
- Implement vector, vermin, and rodent control measures.
- Implement integrated mosquito control strategies.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in either Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

8. KCPSB/2025/08: REGISTERED CLINICAL OFFICER, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (12 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Take history, examine, diagnose, and treat patients’ common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient health facility.
- Guide and counsel patients, clients, and staff on health issues.
- Assess, prepare, and present medico-legal reports.
- Coach and mentor students on attachment.
- Carry out surgical procedures as per training and skill.
- Organize health management teams and convene health management committee meetings.
- Collect and compile data for research on clinical services issues.
- Refer patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers Council.
- Valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

9. KCPSB/2025/09: ASSISTANT HEALTH RECORDS AND INFORMATION OFFICER, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (10 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and document patients at the hospital reception.
- Register and book appointments for patients to clinics and consultants.
- Store and retrieve medical records documents.
- Prepare clinics.
- Update the bed bureau.
- Edit patient case records.
- Gather data from different sources.
- Capture data from service points.
- Maintain record safety and confidentiality.
- Store and retrieve medical records.
- Balance daily bed returns.
- Create and maintain a master index.
- Update the patient master index.
- Direct patients to relevant clinics.
- Schedule patients to consultants and specialty clinics.
- Assign codes to diseases and surgical procedures according to the International Classification of Diseases and Procedures in Medicine.

- Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution.
- Be a member of the Association of Medical Records-Kenya (AMRO-K).
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

10. KCPSB/2025/10: PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (10 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Manufacture and compound medicine.
- Receive, process, and record prescriptions in a unit pharmacy.
- Counsel patients on drug usage, order, and record drug consumption.
- Maintain relevant records pertaining to drugs.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution (PBB).
- Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- A valid practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

11. KCPSB/2025/11: RADIOGRAPHER III, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (7 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide radiographic services to patients.
- Process, verify, and maintain information relating to patients.
- Order and maintain records of radiographic and photographic supplies.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean grade C plain with C plain in English/Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences or Physics/Physical Sciences, and C- in Mathematics.
- Diploma in any of the following: Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, and Digital Medical Imaging Equipment or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Membership certificate issued by the Society of Radiography in Kenya (SORK).
- A valid practicing license issued by the Society of Radiography in Kenya (SORK).
Terms of Service:Â Three (3) Year Contract.
12. KCPSB/2025/12: NUTRITION & DIETETICS TECHNOLOGIST III, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (2 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide nutrition services in healthcare facilities.
- Conduct nutrition assessments.
- Collect and compile nutrition data.
- Provide nutrition health education and demonstrations.
- Counsel patients with specific nutritional needs.
- Monitor the preparation of therapeutic feeds.
- Implement outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding programs.
- Promote maternal, infant, and young children feeding programs.
- Provide micronutrient supplementation.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, or Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized institution.
- Registration by the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND).
- A valid practicing license issued by the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND).
- Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.

13. KCPSB/2025/13: PHYSIOTHERAPIST, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (3 POSTS)
a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine and assess patients/clients requiring physiotherapy treatment.
- Determine indications and contraindications for treatment.
- Evaluate patients/clients on treatment in view of changing treatment modalities, placement, referral for further consultation with the doctor, or for discharge of a home program.
- Maintain patient/client files for filing patients’ admission notes, review, and document patients’ treatment progress notes.
- Prepare daily physiotherapy report sheets for patients/clients treated/rehabilitated and submit them to the immediate supervisor for verification and countersigning.
- Handle an average of 10 (long cases) in the physiotherapy outpatient unit per day.
- Maintain a patients/clients outpatient or inpatient register and document daily patient attendance, treatment, and other necessary details.
- Maintain an equipment inventory indicating the functionality of the machines.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Physiotherapy or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Registration from the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya (PCK).
- Current Certificate of Practice from the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya (PCK).

a) Duties and Responsibilities

a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Manipulate and reduce fractures and dislocations.
- Fix and remove casts, bandages, and traction from patients.
- Counsel clients/patients on issues of orthopedic trauma.
- Document orthopedic and trauma cases.
- Assess and refer musculoskeletal conditions.
- Participate in the management of minor orthopedic trauma cases in emergencies.
- Clean and treat simple wounds resulting from orthopedic trauma.
- Make follow-ups on patients with orthopedic trauma in wards and outpatient clinics.
- Interpret radiological images of orthopedic trauma cases.
- Correct congenital talipes equinovarus (C.T.E.V.).
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

- Diploma in Orthopedic Plaster Technology from a recognized institution.

- Verify and maintain information relating to patients.

- Guide, supervise, and counsel staff working under him/her.
b) Requirements for Appointment
- Kenya Certificate of Education Division II or its equivalent with credit passes in relevant subjects.

a) Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and record patient work and interpret patient prescriptions.
- Disinfect impressions, prostheses, and appliances.
- Assess and cast impressions.
- Implement dental laboratory standard operating procedures.
- Assign and fabricate acrylic complete/partial dentures, simple orthodontic appliances, and repairs.
- Participate in oral/dental health promotion.
