General Accountant

Our client, a leading company in the branding sector, is seeking to recruit an Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing financial insights to support business decision-making. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a good understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and expense reports. Statutory returns, pay, vat,
• Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor company financial transactions.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory deductions (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF), and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist in audit preparation.
• Process payroll, ensuring accurate salary computations and statutory deductions.
• Monitor cash flow and advise on cost-saving measures.
• Support management with financial reports and analysis to aid strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the branding, marketing, or creative industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
