The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is looking for a talented Graphics Design Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enhance their skills, work on exciting projects, and contribute to impactful marketing and promotional materials. The selected intern will work under the supervision of the Manager, Corporate Communication, and will play a key role in ensuring brand consistency and effective communication of key messages.
The Graphics Design Intern will provide creative and technical support in designing marketing and promotional materials, ensuring brand consistency and effective communication of key messages.
Your role
The duties and responsibilities of the intern will entail: –
- Designing and producing marketing materials – Creating engaging brochures, posters, banners, and digital graphics for social media and websites to enhance visibility and communication.
- Supporting event branding materials – Assisting in the development of branding materials for CPD activities and major conferences, including the 6th Engineering Partnerships Convention.
- Ensuring brand consistency – Maintaining the organization’s branding guidelines across all communication and promotional materials.
- Designing social media graphics – Developing eye-catching graphics for social media campaigns to boost engagement and brand presence.
- Creating motion graphics and short video edits – Assisting in the production of infographics, motion graphics, and short video edits tailored for online platforms.
- Newsletter layout design – Supporting the layout and formatting of newsletters for digital distribution.
- Brainstorming and executing creative ideas – Working closely with the communications team to bring innovative design ideas to life.
- Incorporating stakeholder feedback – Receiving and implementing constructive feedback to refine and improve designs.
- Managing and organizing graphic files – Ensuring proper storage and easy retrieval of design files and assets.
- Staying updated on industry trends – Keeping up with the latest graphic design trends and proposing innovative design strategies to improve output.
Qualifications
For-appointment to this position, a candidate must: –
- Possess a Diploma or Higher Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
- Have strong knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout design.
- Experience in motion graphics or video editing is an added advantage.

Terms of Service
- This is a one-year internship.
- The intern will report to the Manager, Corporate Communications.
- There is no remuneration attached to this position as it is a training opportunity.
