Registered Nurses Internship

The Murang’a County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent andqualified persons to fill vacant positions in Murang’a County Government.

REGISTERED NURSES INTERNS- Six (6) positions

Requirements for appointment

1. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or KenyaRegistered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognizedinstitution;
2. Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya; and
3. Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya;
4. Be aged 35 years and below. Duties and Responsibilities

This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities at thislevel will entail:

1. Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluatingpatient’s outcomes;
2. Providing appropriate healthcare services including IntegratedManagement Of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Immunization, PMTCT, Ante-Natal Care and Delivery, Providing Health Education andCounselling to patients/clients and community on identified healthneeds;
3. Referring patients and clients appropriately;
4. Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans;
5. Maintaining records on patients’/clients health condition and care;
6. Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and
7. Collecting and compiling data.

Terms of Service: One (1) year contract
