The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), an umbrella organization for Protestant Churches and Christian Organizations registered in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a highly skilled, experienced, and results-oriented professional. Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position:
Job Title: Assistant Human Resources Officer

Immediate Supervisor: Human Resource Officer
NCCK Job Grade: NCCK 2
Job Purpose:
The Assistant Human Resources Officer will support day-to-day HR operations, help ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and contribute to maintaining a positive and efficient workplace environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs across the organization
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
- Organize and manage physical and digital filing systems for HR documents
- Support recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new employees
- Help manage leave records, attendance tracking, and employee benefits administration
- Take minutes during HR meetings and ensure timely distribution and filing
- Assist in drafting employment contracts, letters, and other HR related documents
- Prepare and manage HR correspondence such as memos, notices, and official communications
Key Qualifications / Skills / Competencies / Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of One Year (1) experience in an HR support role or similar capacity
- Strong written communication skills for drafting documents, minutes, and correspondence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage filing systems efficiently
