Reports to<\/strong>: Central Warehouse Logistician<\/p>\n

Overall Job Function:<\/h4>\n

KENPHIA II Warehouse Assistant will be responsible to execute stock management activities\u202f (receipt, storage, and issuance to projects or other departments of medical supplies, tools,\u202f equipment and\/ or other logistics materials, according to the line manager\u2019s instructions and\u202f as per CIHEB Kenya standards and protocols to ensure the overall functioning of KenPHIA II activities. S\/he\u202f is a key member of the warehouse team and will assist the implementation of quality and\u202f timely stock management activities. As part of the KenPHIA II multidisciplinary team, this position\u202f will interact with staff from different levels and different departments.<\/p>\n

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Receiving orders and deliveries, identifying, and reporting potential discrepancies\u202fagainst cargo manifest, purchase orders or others.<\/li>\n
  • Updating and\/or creating stock cards for all stock items immediately after reception of<\/li>\n
  • Storing materials in accordance with the system in force to ensure continuous availability\u202fensuring that all items are well organized and correctly stored, well protected, fully\u202fidentified and easily accessible (cleanliness, security, access, etc.).<\/li>\n
  • Monitoring the store temperature and ensuring cold chain items are stored in an\u202fadequate temperature. Keep enhanced control of sensitive goods: numbers of lots, expiry dates, packaging, and special storage conditions<\/li>\n
  • Preparing orders on time before sending goods, and packs (according to transport\u202fmeans) weighs and labels freight with corresponding shipping number, destination, number of shipping units, waybill number, weight, and mode of transport in accordance\u202fwith the line manager\u2019s instructions<\/li>\n
  • In conjunction with the line manager, performing physical stock counts in accordance\u202fwith the frequency previously defined. Following up stock levels with regards to alarms\u202fthresholds, stock out and expiry dates.<\/li>\n
  • Controlling warehouse limited access to authorized personnel and ensuring doors and\u202fother exits are secured. Immediately informing the line manager of any problems arising\u202fin the course of the work, particularly regarding damage, loss, attempted break-ins, or\u202ftheft in the warehouse<\/li>\n
  • Assisting the line manager with preparation of the stock reports<\/li>\n
  • Process system IN\/OUT transactions in google doc<\/li>\n
  • Control trucks before loading (cleanness, safety, etc.). Inform warehouse supervisor in\u202fcase of nonconformity, supervising load and offload of trucks<\/li>\n
  • Ensure proper handling of equipment (e.g., pallet jack, pallets, shelves, etc.) is meeting\u202f Inform warehouse supervisor in case of disorder<\/li>\n
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Degree in Biomedical\/Medical laboratory sciences, material handling management, Supply chain management and its equivalent.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 2\u00a0years\u2019 work experience as storekeeper is desired, especially in medical warehouse<\/li>\n
    • Medical laboratory skills is desirable.<\/li>\n
    • Working experience with donor funded projects dealing with HIV\/AIDS care and\u202f treatment is desirable.<\/li>\n
    • Working knowledge of inventory control and metrics.<\/li>\n
    • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently &amp; effectively with initiative and drive\u202f under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n
    • Flexibility and available to work for long hours.<\/li>\n
    • Fluent in English and Swahili with good verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
