About KHRC<\/h4>\n

The\u00a0Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC)<\/strong>\u00a0is a premier and flagship Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Africa that was established and incorporated in 1992 by Kenyans exiled in the United States of America (USA) and later registered in Kenya in 1994. KHRC founders are among the foremost leaders and activists in struggles for human rights and democratic reforms in Kenya and beyond.\u00a0\u00a0 KHRC seeks to hire\u00a0six<\/strong>\u00a0interns<\/strong>\u00a0to fill positions to offer support to following areas:\u00a0\u00a0Program, Communications, Legal, and Administration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Overall Purpose:<\/h4>\n

An intern offers support and reports to any and all offices. The position of an intern seeks to contribute and work together with other team members to provide administrative, financial, programmatic, communication, legal and field support where required.\u00a0 Interns will not engage or make any decision on behalf of the Commission and will work closely with all team members assigned to them to drive the strategic direction of KHRC.<\/p>\n

Duties and responsibilities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Offer support to all thematic areas in the implementation of the organization\u2019s operational plan as directed by the Program Managers including undertaking of administrative work.<\/li>\n
  2. Assist all thematic areas when undertaking fieldwork including quality report writing, facilitation, training, or education of beneficiaries.<\/li>\n
  3. Assist the legal affairs department by receiving and documenting all clients received and, where possible, giving the required legal advice.<\/li>\n
  4. Assist in reviewing and editing various consultant reports including policy briefs and conducting desktop research and developing quality reports on key issues related to KHRC work.<\/li>\n
  5. Assist in the analysis of relevant bills and coming up with recommendations, monitor media reports and generate bi-monthly reports.<\/li>\n
  6. Assist in organizing training, conference, or meetings for all KHRC constituents and generate quality reports of all meetings\/conferences.<\/li>\n
  7. Assist in the preparation processes for any field work activities, including the collection of materials to be distributed and packing all activity materials as directed by the Program Manager or Advisor in charge of the activity.<\/li>\n
  8. Undertake any other duties as assigned by the internship committee or managers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    4. Able to take initiative, prioritize, organize workload, meet deadlines, and work under pressure<\/li>\n
    5. Attentive to detail and accuracy<\/li>\n
    6. Willing to learn, teachable, and have a good work ethic and attitude.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Qualifications we are looking for:<\/h3>\n

      1.       2.
