{"id":721535,"date":"2024-07-10T22:37:59","date_gmt":"2024-07-10T19:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=721535"},"modified":"2025-01-11T01:00:11","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T22:00:11","slug":"721535-java-house-food-safety-internship-nairobi","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&p=721535","title":{"rendered":"Food Safety Internship"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Strategy\/Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cooperate and support in a cross-functional manner with all departments within the company as necessary to ensure compliance with the local regulatory requirements and international standards in food safety.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with R &amp; M team to implement preventive and corrective maintenance, identify and report any deficiencies in the branch operation for appropriate action.<br \/>\nImplementation of internal and external audit schedules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Implementation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct branch surveillance audits as per schedule, share reports, follow up and review CAP\u2019s arising from the same.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure food safety documentation and records are available to the users, maintained and retrievable when required.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct food safety and hygiene training for food handlers (induction and refresher) and help identify training needs for staff.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor effectiveness of the pest control program and report any deficiencies for action.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper sanitation procedures are implemented and monitoring of the same is done through an effective swabbing regime and appropriate action taken based on the results.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out traceability of products as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Issue NCR (Non Conformance Report) for non-conforming products originating from internal and external suppliers.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in investigating internal and external food safety related complaints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting and Evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Timely implementation of audits, trainings and sampling schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Prompt issuance and follow up for all NCRs.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure pest sightings are reported to the pest control provider in a timely manner for action.<\/li>\n<li>Timely investigation and feedback on customer complaints.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure implementation, maintenance and sustenance of corrective actions.<\/li>\n<li>Timely investigations of failed samples and corrective actions for the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Budgeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be aware of financial implications of his\/her decisions, and the overall performance of the department, and takes appropriate actions to avoid negative impact on the business.<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to the annual budgeting effort by proposing CAPEX and OPEX relating to the department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>MUST-HAVE SKILLS<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of Food Safety Regulations<\/li>\n<li>Analytical Skills<\/li>\n<li>Quality Control<\/li>\n<li>Attention to Detail<\/li>\n<li>Time Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>About Java House<\/h4>\n<p>Java House is one of the leading coffee brands in Africa and has grown to have outlets in 14 cities across 3 countries in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda).
