ADVERTS\/4\/2024\/5<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"duties-and-responsibilities-1\">Duties and responsibilities: &ndash;<\/h3>\n<p>Responsibilities at this level will entail: &ndash;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collecting and compiling data for irrigation scheme planning;<\/li>\n<li>Mobilizing farmers for participatory irrigation development;<\/li>\n<li>Setting up of demonstration plots;<\/li>\n<li>Identifying irrigation schemes for development;<\/li>\n<li>Implementing irrigation action plans;<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out repairs and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure;<\/li>\n<li>Undertaking preliminary investigations and feasibility studies irrigation scheme development; and<\/li>\n<li>Any other duty assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"requirements-for-appointment-1\">Requirements for Appointment:-<\/h3>\n<p>For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: &ndash;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in any of the following disciplines: &ndash; Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Environmental and Bio-systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;<\/li>\n<li>Registration by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK); and<\/li>\n<li>Certificate in computer application skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2 id=\"engineering-technologist-i-irrigation-adverts-4-2024-6-1\">ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST I (IRRIGATION), ADVERTS\/4\/2024\/6<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"duties-and-responsibilities-2\">Duties and Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<p>Duties and responsibility at this level will entail: &ndash;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inspecting the development of irrigation infrastructure;<\/li>\n<li>Collecting baseline data for irrigation planning;<\/li>\n<li>Organizing farmers&rsquo; meetings for irrigation participatory development;<\/li>\n<li>Training irrigation farmers on sustainable scheme management and resource mobilization;<\/li>\n<li>Setting up of demonstration plots on irrigation technologies;<\/li>\n<li>Identifying irrigation schemes for development;<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out preliminary surveys;<\/li>\n<li>Implementing irrigation action plans;<\/li>\n<li>Training farmers on scheme operations, maintenance and environmental management; and<\/li>\n<li>Implementing irrigation action plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"requirements-for-appointment-2\">Requirements for Appointment:-<\/h3>\n<p>For Appointment to this grade, an officer must have: &ndash;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technician Part III certificate in any of the following disciplines: &ndash; Irrigation, Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Farm Power and Machinery, Processing and Structures or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;<br \/>\nOR<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in any of the following disciplines: &ndash; Irrigation, Irrigation and Drainage, Soil and Water Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Farm Power and Machinery or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;<\/li>\n<li>Registration with Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB) or Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a technician; and<\/li>\n<li>Certificate in computer application skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2 id=\"assistant-irrigation-water-management-officer-iii-jg-h-3-posts-ref-adverts-4-2024-7-1\">ASSISTANT IRRIGATION WATER MANAGEMENT OFFICER III, JG &lsquo;H&rsquo; &ndash; (3 Posts) REF. ADVERTS\/4\/2024\/7<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"duties-and-responsibilities-3\">Duties and Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<p>Duties and responsibilities will entail: &ndash;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Updating the water users&rsquo; associations inventory in an assigned area;<\/li>\n<li>Collecting data for irrigation scheme development;<\/li>\n<li>Mobilizing farmers for the formation of irrigation water users&rsquo; association;<\/li>\n<li>Participating in training farmers on sustainable irrigation management,supply and optimum use of water and management of irrigated enterprises at scheme level; and<\/li>\n<li>Participating in demonstration of on-farm irrigation technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"requirements-for-appointment-3\">Requirements for Appointment<\/h3>\n<p>For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: &ndash;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma in any of the following disciplines: &ndash; Irrigation Technology, Irrigation and Water Management, Agriculture Education and Extension, Horticulture, Agriculture, Agriculture and Rural Development, Sustainable Agriculture, Farm Management, Environmental Resource Management or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
