BBC World Service Languages is seeking talented, people with a disability to join our\u00a0Future Voices<\/strong>\u00a0trainee scheme. This a\u00a0four-month<\/strong>\u00a0entry level paid program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in journalism and kickstart your career at one of the world's leading broadcasters.<\/p>\n

Who are we looking for?<\/h3>\n

Aspiring journalists\u00a0 with a disability who are just starting out or at the beginning of their career and are passionate about finding and telling stories for a global audience. You should be curious about the world and fluent in one of the BBC World Service Languages mentioned above.<\/p>\n

What the scheme will give you<\/p>\n

  • Skills and training to be a multi-platform journalist<\/li>\n
  • First-hand experience in BBC World Service News teams<\/li>\n
  • A personal mentor to support your journey<\/li>\n
  • A salary for the duration of the training<\/li>\n
  • An item of content you can help build a portfolio with<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    To be eligible for this opportunity, you must:<\/p>\n

    • Be registered as a person with a disability with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.<\/li>\n
    • Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts in April 2025.<\/li>\n
    • Be legally allowed to work in Kenya full time<\/li>\n
    • Be fluent in English and one of the languages we have listed in this advert.<\/li>\n
    • Be available from April \u2013 July 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
