This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about accounting in the construction industry while supporting daily accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in financial recordkeeping, reporting, and analyzing financial data.<\/p>\n<h3>Duties and Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Assist in the preparation of financial statements:<\/strong>\u00a0Support the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports under the supervision of the finance manager.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data Entry:<\/strong>\u00a0Record and maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accounting software.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Invoice Management:<\/strong>\u00a0Assist in processing invoices, verifying payment details, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and subcontractors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expense Tracking:<\/strong>\u00a0Help in tracking and categorizing company expenses related to construction projects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bank Reconciliation:<\/strong>\u00a0Assist with reconciling bank accounts and company statements.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Inventory Management:<\/strong>\u00a0Support the tracking and recording of construction materials and other assets in the financial system.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Filing and Documentation:<\/strong>\u00a0Ensure that accounting documents are organized and filed properly for easy access.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tax Compliance:<\/strong>\u00a0Assist in compiling data for VAT, PAYE, and other taxes, supporting the team with preparation for tax filing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assist with Budget Monitoring:<\/strong>\u00a0Help in reviewing project budgets and financial forecasts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other Ad-hoc Accounting Tasks:<\/strong>\u00a0Provide general accounting support as needed, including audits, reports, and office administration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Key Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pursuing a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.<\/li>\n<li>Fresh graduates or candidates currently enrolled in university or college are encouraged to apply.<\/li>\n<li>No prior professional experience required, but any internship or part-time experience in accounting or finance is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of accounting principles.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strong Attention to Detail<\/strong>: Ability to spot discrepancies in financial records and reports.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Good Analytical Skills<\/strong>: Comfortable analyzing financial data and drawing insights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Organizational Skills<\/strong>: Efficient in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software<\/strong>: Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communication Skills<\/strong>: Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Problem-Solving Skills<\/strong>: Able to troubleshoot accounting issues and propose solutions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Team Player<\/strong>: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and
