Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB among them being \u201cappoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments\u201d.<\/p>\n

EXTERNAL POSITIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board wishes to advertise the following posts externally in various Departments on Permanent terms.<\/p>\n

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH & SANITATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Assistant Public Health Officer [3], Job Group \u201cH\u201d \u2013 Twenty-One (21) posts<\/h2>\n

Requirements for appointment<\/h3>\n

i. Be a Kenyan Citizen;
\nii. Diploma in either Environmental Health Sciences or Public Health from a recognized institution;
\niii. Registration and valid practicing license from the Public Health and Technicians Council (PHOTEC);
\niv. Have acquired the necessary Computer skills<\/p>\n

Duties and responsibilities<\/h3>\n

The Assistant Public Health Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;<\/p>\n

i. Mobilizing, sensitizing, and advising communities on matters related to environmental\/ public health;
\nii. Referring health cases to relevant health facilities;
\niii. Identifying environmental health issues at the community level;
\niv. Mobilize communities for preventive intervention such as Immunization
\nv. Organizing community health days to advise communities on common public health issues;
\nvi. Collecting and maintaining up-to-date records of services rendered;
\nvii.Assessing the health needs of the community;
\nviii.Implementing vector, vermin, and rodent control measures;
\nix. Implementing integrated mosquito control strategies; and
\nx. Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.<\/p>\n

Integrity Clearance<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Successful applicants are expected to get clearance from the following bodies.<\/p>\r\n

i. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
\r\nii. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
\r\niii. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
\r\niv. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
\r\nv. Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
\r\nvi. For those with higher education certificates (degrees) from outside Kenya, a letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission of University Education.<\/p>\r\n

Each application should be accompanied by some detailed curriculum vitae, copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and transcripts, National Identity Card or Passport, testimonials, and other relevant supporting documents.<\/p>\r\n
