Its Headquarters is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.<\/p>\n<p>In seeking to attain this objective, the African Union intends to build its capacity to deliver, among others, the implementation of its organizational structure.<\/p>\n<p>In this pursuit, the African Union Commission invites applicants who are citizens of Member States for its Internship Program.<\/p>\n<p><b>AU Values\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect for Diversity and Team Work<\/li>\n<li>Think Africa Above all<\/li>\n<li>Transparency and Accountability<\/li>\n<li>Integrity and Impartiality<\/li>\n<li>Efficiency and Professionalism<\/li>\n<li>Information and Knowledge Sharing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Purpose of the Internship<\/h4>\n<p>The African Union Internship Program provides an opportunity for interns to complement their educational experience and to develop their professional skills and experience through The AU internship program is a full-time engagement through which qualified individuals from diverse academic backgrounds are given the opportunity to gain professional exposure within the AU. As an organization which promotes respect for diversity and team work, we encourage all qualified individuals to apply. Applicants should have a keen interest in the work of the AU and demonstrate the ability to interact with individuals from various cultural backgrounds and beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>The program aims to expose participants to the workings of the AU at an early stage of their professional career and strengthen their personal and professional skills. It provides an avenue for participants to gain hands-on experience in various applicable fields, while learning in an intercultural environment. \u00a0The AU will further gain support from participants who possess adequate knowledge and skills in relevant areas and serve as a potential grooming ground for future African Leaders.<\/p>\n<h4>Focus Area<\/h4>\n<p>In general, interns assist in providing administrative and technical support for effective implementation of African Union programmes, projects and activities in its below Department\/Directorates:<\/p>\n<p>-\u00a0 \u00a0 Cabinet of the Chairperson<br \/>\n- \u00a0 \u00a0Cabinet of the Deputy Chairperson<br \/>\n- \u00a0 \u00a0Office of the Director General<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment (ARBE)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Economic Development, Trade, Industry, Mining (ETIM)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Infrastructure and Energy (IE)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development (HHS)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Human Resources Management (HRM)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Operations Support Services<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Management Information Systems Division<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conference Management and Publications (CMP)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Office for Safety and Security Services<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Citizens and Diaspora (CIDO)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Medical and Health Services<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Financial Control Unit<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Office of Strategic Planning and Delivery<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Office of Internal Oversight (OIO)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Quality Assurance and Control<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ethics, Integrity and Standards<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Office of the Secretary to the Commission<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Office of the Legal Counsel (OLC)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Office of Protocol<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Partnership and Resource Mobilization<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Women, Gender and Youth (WGY)<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Information and Communication<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Peace Fund Secretariat<br \/>\n-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD)<\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Actively enrolled in at least the final year of a Bachelor\u2019s degree program OR<\/li>\n<li>Must have obtained a Bachelor\u2019s degree or an advanced\/ post graduate (Masters) qualification in a related academic field;<\/li>\n<li>Be nationals of a Member State of the African Union.<\/li>\n<li>Be full time students currently enrolled in the final year of their Bachelors or graduate school program.<\/li>\n<li>Be fluent in at least one of the African Union working languages (Arabic, English, French or Portuguese).<\/li>\n<li>Be no more than thirty-two (32) years of age at the time of selection.<\/li>\n<li>Possess the highest standard of moral conduct and integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Have not been convicted of any serious criminal offence excluding minor traffic offences.<\/li>\n<li>Prior work experience is not required for the internship positions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Terms and Conditions<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The AU will have no financial obligation towards interns - travel arrangements and cost of accommodation and living expenses will be the responsibility of the interns.<\/li>\n<li>AU will use reasonable efforts to assist the interns in obtaining their entry and residence visas.<\/li>\n<li>Interns will not be entitled to any compensation for travel.<\/li>\n<li>The internship will be authorized only once for three (3) month renewable one time for any candidate<\/li>\n<li>Interns are not entitled to medical travel or medical evacuation to and from the internship location at the expenses of the Commission.
