{"id":798638,"date":"2025-04-03T15:51:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-03T12:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=798638"},"modified":"2025-08-14T03:26:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T00:26:11","slug":"798638-kemri-pharmaceutical-technologist-kisumu","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&p=798638","title":{"rendered":"Pharmaceutical Technologist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a state corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013 as the national body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pharmaceutical Technologist - Kisumu<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"toc_key_responsibilities:\">Key Responsibilities:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the dispensing of medications, including oral PrEP, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.<\/li>\n<li>Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications and supplies to prevent shortages and overstocking.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and inventory levels.<\/li>\n<li>Provide education to participants on medication use, including oral PrEP adherence and potential side effects.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper storage conditions for Study Investigational product and other medications, adhering to safety and quality assurance standards.<\/li>\n<li>Support the research team by preparing and dispensing study medications as per protocol requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, clinic policies, and research protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the clinical and research teams to ensure smooth clinic operations.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.<\/li>\n<li>Administer respective Case Report Forms (CRFs)<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out QA\/QC of study\u00a0CRFs, source docs, and resolve queries that may arise.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining pharmacy temperature and humidity logs<\/li>\n<li>Participants Randomization process in liaison with the data and clinic teams.<\/li>\n<li>Generation and review of pharmacy SOP\u2019s and ensuring adherence to the same<\/li>\n<li>Processing shipment documentation of study products and track study product shipment from source to site.<\/li>\n<li>Processing study products destruction documents and taking part in actual destruction process.<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing communication between pharmacy and local PPB and coordinating center.<\/li>\n<li>Management of regulatory affairs regarding pharmacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Vacancy Requirements:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Mandatory<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma or certificate in Pharmacy Technology or related field.<\/li>\n<li>Valid pharmacy technologist license to practice in Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 1\u20132 years of experience as a pharmacy technologist, preferably in a clinical or research setting.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with HIV medications, including oral PrEP, is highly desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with inventory management systems and electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication dispensing<\/li>\n<li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and patient counselling skills.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of ethical and regulatory requirements for clinical research.<\/li>\n<li>Compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.<\/li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving and time-management skills<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to advancing public health and HIV prevention.<\/li>\n<li>Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subject Protection (HSP) certification with Strong knowledge of ICH guidelines, FDA, PPB, and other global regulatory frameworks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Additional training in HIV care or public health is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":715154,"template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_promoted":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_job_salary_unit":"","_job_how_to_apply":"<p>To apply for this post you must be a registered user.
