DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, VOCATIONAL TRAINING, SOC<\/strong><\/p>\n

Basic Salary Scale<\/strong>: Ksh. 41,420.00 - 57,230.00 pm (CPSB 09)
\nHouse Allowance<\/strong>: Ksh. 12,800.00 pm
\nCommuter Allowance:<\/strong> Ksh. 5,000 p.m.
\nOther Allowances<\/strong> as Per the SRC Circulars
\nTerms of Service<\/strong>: Permanent and Pensionable<\/p>\n

Requirements for Appointment-:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Library Studies\/Library and Information Science, Information Science;<\/li>\n
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and<\/li>\n
  • Good analytical and record keeping skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Duties and Responsibilities -:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Accessioning, stamping and labeling of the acquired information resources;<\/li>\n
    • Shelving and shelf arrangement;<\/li>\n
    • Collating user requests;<\/li>\n
    • Preparing materials for binding and file pockets;<\/li>\n
    • Spine marking, fixing book jackets;<\/li>\n
    • Preparing and cataloguing press cuttings;<\/li>\n
    • Filling catalogue cards;<\/li>\n
    • Receiving new materials, compiling lists of overdue resources;<\/li>\n
    • Serials control and tracking;<\/li>\n
    • Compiling user statistics; and<\/li>\n
    • Collecting, documenting and archiving\/preserving information resources.<\/li>\n
