VACANCY<\/strong>: BILLING OFFICER
\nLocation<\/strong>: Healthpact Hospital \u2013 Isiolo Town
\nReports To<\/strong>: Credit Controller

Healthpact Hospital is seeking to hire a competent and detail-oriented Billing Officer to support the hospital\u2019s revenue collection efforts through accurate, timely, and compliant billing of patients and thirdparty payers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of hospital billing systems, with a particular focus on inpatient billing.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Generate and verify patient bills for inpatient, outpatient, maternity, and emergency services in line with applicable billing codes and tariffs.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure real-time capture of billable services, procedures, and items provided to patients.<\/li>\n
  • Accurately categorize patients (e.g., cash, corporate, SHA, private insurance) in the hospital system for correct billing.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with the medical, pharmacy, and nursing teams to confirm bill completeness prior to invoicing or discharge.<\/li>\n
  • Reconcile daily billing transactions with system entries and cashier receipts.<\/li>\n
  • Submit invoices or claims to insurance providers and corporate clients in accordance with agreed formats and timelines.<\/li>\n
  • Flag discrepancies or inconsistencies in billing and escalate unresolved cases to the Credit Controller.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain up-to-date billing records and ensure all documentation (e.g., treatment notes, approvals) is filed appropriately.<\/li>\n
  • Support audit and verification processes by availing necessary documentation and responding to queries.<\/li>\n
  • Handle patient and client inquiries regarding their bills with professionalism and clarity.<\/li>\n
  • Assist in tracking unpaid invoices and support follow-up on pending claims or patient balances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:<\/h3>\n

    • Diploma or Degree in a business-related field such as:\n
        \n
      • Business Administration<\/li>\n
      • Healthcare Management<\/li>\n
      • Accounting or Finance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in hospital billing, preferably in a busy inpatient facility.<\/li>\n
      • Strong understanding of inpatient billing processes, insurance claim workflows, and billing codes.<\/li>\n
      • Proficiency in hospital information systems and Microsoft Excel.<\/li>\n
      • High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.<\/li>\n
      • Good interpersonal and communication skills.<\/li>\n
      • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and meet daily deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
