Esquire Consultants Limited client is one of the fastest-growing continental agribusiness companies with a passion for poultry and an offering that ranges from eggs to frozen chicken and feed to day-old chicks. Currently, the Kenyan operation's focus is on Day-Old Chicks & animal Feeds. The company seeks to hire\u00a0a\u00a0<\/strong>dynamic, go-getter, results-oriented, and hands-on\u00a0Maintenance Intern<\/strong>\u00a0responsible for installing, maintaining & repairing all Hatchery equipment and machinery as per SOPs and based on the Maintenance Team Roster.<\/p>\n

\nSupervises:<\/strong> None
\nInternship Stipend <\/strong>: Kshs 20,000 Gross.
\nNumber of Positions<\/strong>: One (1) Position
\nPlacement:<\/strong> Immediate<\/p>\n

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h4>\n

Attends to the maintenance Of Hatchery equipment & machinery as per SOPs & Bio-Security standards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Follow up & implement the weekly maintenance schedule and report any faults with the Supervisor.<\/li>\n
  • Conduct daily checks on generators and ensure adequate fuel is available.<\/li>\n
  • Conduct checks on Hatchery equipment and machinery as per SOPs.<\/li>\n
  • Conduct bi-weekly checks on Setter and Hatcher machines and perform calibration before and after loading of eggs under the supervision of the Hatchery Manager.<\/li>\n
  • Report electrical equipment and machinery issues immediately.<\/li>\n
  • Raise Internal Requisitions to order spares needed to maintain equipment and send them to Assistant Hatchery Managers for approval.<\/li>\n
  • Receive training from various skilled individuals on an ad-hoc basis.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare reports as per the Report Matrix.<\/li>\n
  • Attend meetings as per the Meeting Schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Attends to repairs on Hatchery machinery & equipment as required.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Attend to all critical jobs affecting production or the smooth running of Hatchery activities.<\/li>\n
    • Communicate with relevant company technical individuals to solve specific issues.<\/li>\n
    • Get notified day & night when breakdowns occur.<\/li>\n
    • Specify electrical components and materials.<\/li>\n
    • Conduct regular maintenance checks and repairs on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.<\/li>\n
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions promptly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Assist with the installation of all new Hatchery equipment & machinery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Receive notifications & diagrams from the Hatchery Manager of any new machinery arrival.<\/li>\n
      • Ensure the available space required for new equipment is cleared to receive it.<\/li>\n
      • Communicate with various company-skilled individuals to assist with instalment of new equipment.<\/li>\n
      • Communicates with the Superior to witness test runs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Ensure Hatchery team complies with company QA, SHE, GHPs (Good Hygiene Practice), GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice), and all other company SOPs & statutory regulations, and expected Company behaviours at all times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.<\/li>\n
        • Ensure 100% compliance with SOPs.<\/li>\n
        • Follow up on all QA NC issues and close cases within a reasonable time frame.<\/li>\n
        • Ensure all company reporting deadlines are met.<\/li>\n
        • Ensure all bio-security procedures are followed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALITIES<\/h4>\n

          Educational Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field, a Bachelor's degree will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n
          • Proficient in the use of Auto CAD or similar design software (a plus).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Work Experience:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in an industrial or agricultural setting.<\/li>\n
            • Experience with PLC programming and automation systems is highly desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Experience Required<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneNote.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Core Competencies Required<\/strong><\/p>\n

                • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment, including motors, controls, and lighting systems.<\/li>\n
                • Data Driven Decision Making: Proven ability and track record of using data to drive insights and inform effective decisions at all levels of the organization.<\/li>\n
                • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems.<\/li>\n
                • Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.<\/li>\n

                • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in electrical operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
