Position<\/strong>: Laboratory Technologist, Job Group, KMR8 - (1) position The candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory analyses of biological samples, which include but not limited to Malaria microscopy, Haematology, Biochemistry, Immunology, molecular biology to support clinical trials and laboratory research within the KEMRI\/CGHR Malaria Division.<\/p>\n i) Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution i. Qualifications required<\/h4>\n
\nii) A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a busy biomedical laboratory
\niii) Registered by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB)<\/p>\nResponsibilities and tasks<\/h4>\n
\nii. Processing of biological samples, laboratory supply inventory management, storage and shipment of biological samples
\niii. Perform microscopic parasitological diagnosis of malaria
\niv. Perform full blood count using automated analyser
\nv. Perform full biochemistry analysis using automated analyser and point of care devices
\nvi. Perform other laboratory assays as per protocol and relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
\nvii. Maintaining of quality control procedures in all assays performed
\nviii. Development of laboratory SOPs<\/p>\nKey Skills and Competencies<\/h4>\n
