As part of its digital transformation strategy, UNDP Kenya is investing in improving its ICT capabilities, with a focus on data-driven operations, reporting, and service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>The ICT Department plays a central role in supporting the organization's information systems, technology infrastructure, and data management frameworks. With the increasing volume and complexity of data generated from operational, programmatic, and administrative activities, there is a need for dedicated analytical capacity to support evidence-based planning and performance monitoring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice Area<\/strong><br \/>\nEffectiveness<br \/>\n<strong>Bureau<\/strong><br \/>\nRegional Bureau for Africa<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration<\/strong><br \/>\n6 months<br \/>\n<strong>Education &amp; Work Experience<\/strong><br \/>\nBachelor's Degree<br \/>\n<strong>Other Criteria<\/strong><br \/>\ndegree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field<br \/>\n<strong>Required Languages<\/strong><br \/>\nFluency in English is required<\/p>\n<p>UNDP Kenya seeks to recruit a Data Analyst Intern\/Software Engineer to enhance the extraction of meaningful insights from internal and external datasets, develop visual dashboards using tools like\u00a0<strong>Power BI<\/strong>, and support data quality assurance and governance efforts. This role will help bridge the gap between technical data handling and decision-making, contributing directly to more informed strategy and operations across the organization.<\/p>\n<h4>Duties and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<p>Under the supervision of the Head of ICT and in close collaboration with the ICT\/Finance\/Procurement and HR team, the intern will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data to generate actionable insights.<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to the automation and optimization of reporting processes.<\/li>\n<li>Connect to multiple data sources (Excel, SQL databases, APIs, cloud services, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Build interactive dashboards and reports using:(Charts (bar, line, pie, Tables and matrices, Slicers and filters, Maps and KPIs)<\/li>\n<li>Design for user experience: consistent layout, intuitive navigation, color themes.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule data refreshes via Power BI Service.<\/li>\n<li>Provide general administrative and ICT support to the ICT unit as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expected Outputs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Functional and user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports.<\/li>\n<li>Cleaned and well-documented datasets.<\/li>\n<li>Documentation of data sources, transformations, and business logic.<\/li>\n<li>Weekly status updates and a final presentation\/report summarizing work completed.<\/li>\n<li>Share dashboards with stakeholders and manage access via workspaces and row-level security (RLS).<\/li>\n<li>Functioning of the CRM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Required Skills and Experience<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
