Are you a law graduate looking to make an immediate impact in Kenya's financial sector?<\/strong> The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) invites qualified and highly motivated candidates to apply for the position of Temporary Assistant - Licensing<\/strong>. This is a critical, six-month role focused on ensuring compliance and supporting the integrity of our capital markets.<\/p>\n

The Capital Markets Authority is a statutory agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and developing an efficient capital market in Kenya. The Authority invites applications for the following position:<\/p>\n

TEMPORARY ASSISTANT-LICENSING \u2013 1 POSITION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Contract Period<\/strong>: Six (6) Months Fixed Term Contract<\/p>\n

Key responsibilities:<\/h4>\n

Reporting to the Manager, Licensing the selected candidate will be responsible for:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Reviewing applications for licensing of market institutions and intermediaries for compliance with the Regulatory requirements;<\/li>\n
  2. Carrying out fitness and probity checks of proposed directors and key personnel of licensed entities.<\/li>\n
  3. Conducting premise inspection of firms applying for a license;<\/li>\n
  4. Reviewing relevant notices, announcements and advertisements by licensed entities and making recommendations of their suitability for publication;<\/li>\n
  5. Conducting research in matters affecting the development and changes in the Kenyan capital markets institutional arrangement in liaison with relevant stakeholder;<\/li>\n
  6. Keeping and updating databases relating to applications for licensing and other assignments within the department;<\/li>\n
  7. Updating the status of all outstanding licensing applications received by the division, in liaison with officers from other divisions of the department; and<\/li>\n
  8. Reviewing of applications for admission into the regulatory sandbox to test innovations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Law; and<\/li>\n
    • Minimum of one year of relevant experience will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
