{"id":839993,"date":"2025-11-25T10:41:24","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T07:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=839993"},"modified":"2026-03-10T23:43:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T20:43:18","slug":"839993-kenya-airports-authority-firefighter-trainee","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&p=839993","title":{"rendered":"Firefighter Trainee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) was established in 1991 under the KAA Act Cap 395 to provide facilitative infrastructure for aviation services in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>Guided by its mandate, the Authority is seeking to recruit competent and self-driven persons to fill the under listed position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FIREFIGHTER TRAINEEONE HUNDRED (100) VACANCIES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REF<\/strong>: OPS \/F&amp;RT\/NOVEMBER 2025<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The job holder will be responsible for providing and carrying out rescue and firefighting services to passengers, other airport users and property.<\/p>\n<h4>Key Duties and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conducting fire and rescue services through fire-fighting in crashed aircraft and reported fire outbreaks in buildings to save life and property;<\/li>\n<li>Responding to aircraft emergencies as per airport services manual;<\/li>\n<li>Inspecting fire engines, appliances and equipment to ensure serviceability;<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning and maintaining appliances and equipment at the fire station to ensure they are in good working order;<\/li>\n<li>Inspecting runways, taxiways and apron for fuel spillage and Foreign Object Debris (FODs) and ensuring that they are clean and safe;<\/li>\n<li>Inspecting the airport boundary and topography to ensure their accessibility;<\/li>\n<li>Operating pumps and driving of fire engines and vehicles when required; and<\/li>\n<li>Participating in fire drills as required.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Key Qualifications and Experience<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Grade C (Plain) and KCSE Grade C- (Minus) for candidates from Minority groups, Marginalised Communities and Persons living with Disabilities, PWDs;<\/li>\n<li>Basic Fire Training\u00a0from National Youth Service (NYS) or a recognized Institution\u00a0will be an added advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Candidates with\u00a0Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)\u00a0certificate will have an added advantage;\u00a0and<\/li>\n<li>Twenty-six (26) years (Born on or after 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0January, 1999) and not more than 28 years (Born on or after 1<sup>st\u00a0<\/sup>January 1997) for those from\u00a0Minority groups, Marginalised Communities and Persons living with Disabilities, PWDs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Teamwork, good communication and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n<p><strong>Terms and Conditions of Service\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The appointment will be on contract for an initial one (1) year on-the-job training and thereafter appointment on Permanent and Pensionable terms subject to successful completion of the one (1) year on-the-job training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":642859,"template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_promoted":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_job_salary_unit":"","_job_how_to_apply":"<strong>Documents to be submitted by the Applicants<\/strong>\r\n\r\nApplication letter should be accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), a daytime phone contact, email address, email and telephone contacts of three (3) referees, Certified copies of Relevant Academic Certificates by either the\u00a0<strong>issuing institution<\/strong>\u00a0or a\u00a0<strong>Notary<\/strong>\u00a0and copy of the National ID.\r\n\r\nOnly shortlisted candidates will be required to submit the following clearance certificates as per the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010:\r\n\r\n(i) Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations\r\n(ii) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)\r\n(iii) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)\r\n(iv) Clearance from the Ethics &amp; Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)\r\n(v) Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)\r\n\r\nThe clearance certificates should be valid and current.\r\n\r\nThe self-declaration Form from EACC should indicate the respective position that is being applied for.Only shortlisted and successful candidates shall be contacted.
