{"id":843211,"date":"2025-12-05T17:29:55","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T14:29:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=843211"},"modified":"2026-03-10T23:47:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T20:47:13","slug":"843211-batuk-vehicle-mechanic-nanyuki","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/?post_type=job_listing&p=843211","title":{"rendered":"Vehicle Mechanic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ready to advance your engineering career in a dynamic, structured environment? <strong>British Army in Nanyuki are seeking a motivated, qualified Vehicle Mechanic to join their Workshop Department.<\/strong> If you meet the essential qualifications in automotive engineering and possess the required competencies, don't delay\u2014 APPLY NOW.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Department<\/strong>: Workshop Department<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grade<\/strong>: BATUK Grade 8<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full\/Part Time<\/strong>: FULL TIME 40 Hrs per week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Nyati Barracks Workshop, BATUK MAIN.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting To<\/strong>: Heavy\/Light Line Foreman\/Charge Hand, Heavy\/Light Line Production Sergeant<\/p>\n<h4>Main duties<\/h4>\n<p>Generic description of duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in accordance with procedures and standards as stated in Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP\u2019s) and or manufacturers repair manuals.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with technical instructions in addition to any policy procedures laid down in AESPs.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with engineering hygiene standards ensuring that all tools on charge are serviceable and accounted for.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with processes laid down in the Unit Equipment Care Directive (UECD) and Engineering Management System (EMS).<\/li>\n<li>Comply with workshop procedures, Control of Substances Hazardous to Heath (COSHH) and Health and Safety Regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for my personal and professional development.<\/li>\n<li>Use of technical equipment, specialist tools and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).<\/li>\n<li>Drive and operate equipment whilst under repair, maintenance and inspection.<\/li>\n<li>Raise any issues from your section to the Line Foreman\/Charge Hand or Production SNCO.<\/li>\n<li>Raise any issues\/concerns in the workshop to the Chain of Command (CoC) at the earliest opportunity and remember to staff up the chain where possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Secondary Duties:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Deploy forward to EXCON to provide maintenance of the BATUK white fleet and Real-Life Support of green fleet during exercise.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring resources held at the workplace and informing the chain of command of any abuse or malpractice.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out any other duties commensurate with trade\/grade as directed by the LEC supervisors and military line mangers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Competences\/qualifications\/experience:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Essential Qualifications \/ Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum grade 3 Automotive Engineering Certificate from an approved Technical Institute.<\/li>\n<li>KSCE at Grade D or above<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate good understanding of English language (written and verbal).<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate good understanding of Kiswahili (written and verbal).<\/li>\n<li>Current and valid Class C Kenyan driving licence (car license).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Essential Competences<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working together<\/li>\n<li>Communicating and influencing<\/li>\n<li>Planning and managing resources to deliver results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Training Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BATUK Wksp Workplace Induction Package (WIP)<\/li>\n<li>Be capable of passing the BATUK Matrix Test (a requirement for BATUK drivers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Other provisions:<\/h4>\n<p>May be required to work overtime?
