ACRE Africa is seeking a motivated and analytical Actuarial Intern to support the design, development, and refinement of innovative agriculture insurance products across East and Southern Africa. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply actuarial and statistical skills to real-world challenges affecting smallholder farmers, agribusinesses, and development partners.<\/p>\n
a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Assist in designing and pricing index-based and traditional agriculture insurance products, including drought, excess rainfall, flood, pest & disease covers.
\nb)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Support data analysis for various parametric indices (e.g., NDVI, TAMSAT rainfall, soil moisture, Evapotranspiration, yield datasets, satellite weather data).
\nc)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Contribute to actuarial modelling, risk assessment, premium computation, and loss-cost analysis.
\nd)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Participate in portfolio monitoring, exposure analysis, and performance evaluation of existing insurance schemes.
\ne)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Help develop technical documentation, product reports, and actuarial summaries.
