The internship is unpaid (no remuneration or allowances).<\/p>\n<h4>Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<p>Under the supervision of the Manager, HCSU, the incumbent's duties will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To capture information from hard copies to electronic system, i.e., excel, access &amp; SharePoint ensure that the information that is captured is accurate and in good standard.<\/li>\n<li>To create and maintain excel-based tools and reports.<\/li>\n<li>To provide data analysis and insights to support organizational goals.<\/li>\n<li>Enter information from documents to be stored and transmitted.<\/li>\n<li>Consistently check work for accuracy and completeness<\/li>\n<li>Complete forms and edit information.<\/li>\n<li>Read the information and key the data into the necessary fields.<\/li>\n<li>Compare the entered information with the source to identify errors and correct them.<\/li>\n<li>Update existing data in the electronic system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Qualifications\/special skills<\/h4>\n<p>Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), c. Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).<\/p>\n<p>Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.<\/p>\n<p>Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master\u2019s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s or PH.D. Programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred area of study:<\/strong> Degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Public Information, or a related discipline.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, knowledge or skills in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and VBA.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in data processing and analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail and accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and documentation skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. For this internship position, fluency in oral and written English is required.
