Successful applicants will manage vehicle readiness, prioritize passenger security, and maintain essential certification, including First Aid and Defensive Driving, while supporting key operations nationwide.<\/p>\n

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Roads & Transport established under the Kenya Roads Act, 2007 and charged with the mandate to develop, manage, maintain and rehabilitate rural roads.<\/p>\n

Pursuant to the provisions of the Act the Board of Directors invite applications from suitably qualified Kenyan Citizens who wish to be considered for the positions at Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA). The positions are as listed below are (Grade 4-12) on permanent and pensionable terms of service.<\/p>\n

Terms and conditions of service for the advertised positions shall apply as per the approved Human Resource Instruments of the Authority.<\/p>\n

DRIVER III, KERRA GRADE 11 (30 VACANCIES)<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the entry grade into this cadre. A Driver at this level will work under the guidance of a designated officer.<\/p>\n

a) Job Specifications<\/h4>\n

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:<\/p>\n

(i) Driving a motor vehicle as authorized;
\n(ii) Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure, etc.;
\n(iii) Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
\n(iv) Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned;
\n(v) Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road;
\n(vi) Ensuring safety of the passengers and\/or goods therein;
\n(vii) Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle;
\n(viii) Reporting accidents promptly and following up on police abstracts; and
\n(ix) Inspecting vehicles and keeping up-to-date insurance documents.<\/p>\n

b) Job specifications<\/h4>\n

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -<\/p>\n

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D (plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
\n(ii) A valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle(s) an officer is required to drive;
\n(iii) First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
\n(iv) Certificate of Occupational Trade Test III for Drivers;
\n(v) Defensive Driving certificate from a recognized Institution;
\n(vi) At least two (2) years driving experience; and

  2. Certificate of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board\u00a0(HELB);<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\t
  3. Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations\u00a0(DCI);<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\t
  4. Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration\/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission\u00a0(EACC);<\/strong>\u00a0and<\/li>\r\n\t
  5. Clearance certificate from approved Credit Reference Bureau\u00a0(CRB).<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
