Central Bank of Kenya has an openings for Procurement and Disposal Officers in Meru, Nyeri and Kisii<\/strong>. Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Procurement Officer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services in the Bank in adherence to the Public Procurement and Disposal Act.<\/p>\n

Roles and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n

Strategic Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Procurement of goods and services required by the various business units at the Branch<\/li>\n
  2. Prepare annual branch procurement plan in line with the approved budget<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Technical and Operational Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Generate request for quotations (RFQs) and prepare tender documents where applicable, after obtaining specifications for required goods and services.<\/li>\n
    2. Maintain and update regularly, a database of prequalified suppliers.<\/li>\n
    3. Monitor contracts to ensure implementation in accordance with the terms and conditions thereof and ensure renewal upon expiry.<\/li>\n
    4. Co-ordinate receiving and opening of tender documents\/RFQs.<\/li>\n
    5. Co-ordinate evaluation of tenders, quotations, and proposals.<\/li>\n
    6. Oversee reconciliation of physical stock with the stock in the system.<\/li>\n
    7. Provide essential support to the secretariat for tender opening and evaluation committee.<\/li>\n
    8. Any other assigned roles and responsibilities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Qualifications<\/h4>\n
        \n
      1. Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Accounting, or related discipline from a reputable university.<\/li>\n
      2. Professional qualification in Procurement e.g., CIPS<\/li>\n
      3. At least two (2) years\u2019 working experience in the procurement office of a public body or institution.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Good understanding of laws and regulations governing public procurement and public finance management.<\/li>\n
        2. Strong communication, report writing and presentation skills.<\/li>\n

        5. Contract management skills.<\/li>\n
        6. Negotiation skills.<\/li>\n
