KEPSA brings together local and foreign business associations, federations, chambers of commerce, professional bodies that are sectoral umbrella bodies and individual sectoral business membership organizations, corporates, from multinationals to large and medium- sized companies, SMEs, and start-ups from all sectors of the economy, across all parts of the country. This gives KEPSA a reach of over 2 million businesses directly and indirectly. KEPSA also serves as the national focal point of the East Africa Business Council (EABC), the umbrella body of businesses in East Africa. It hosts the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Kenya Chapter, a member of the ICC with a reach of over 45 million businesses globally.<\/p>\n<h4>Key Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<p>The\u00a0Legal Intern will work under the guidance of the Policy and Research Manager\u00a0and support in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Parliamentary\u00a0Engagement<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinating\u00a0participation in Parliamentary Departmental Committee meetings,\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0leadership meetings, and Parliament<\/li>\n<li>Supporting\u00a0public participation on key private sector bills and amendment acts\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (e.g., Finance Bill, Statute Law Miscellaneous Amendments).<\/li>\n<li>Preparing fortnightly\u00a0reports to parliamentary leaders on bills being tracked and KEPSA inputs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Legislative\u00a0Monitoring &amp; Reporting<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Updating\u00a0members on proceedings in both houses of Parliament, focusing on\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 legislative agendas impacting the private sector.<\/li>\n<li>Publishing weekly\u00a0calendars of parliamentary activities.<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing\u00a0bills under consideration and preparing legislative bulletins\u00a0highlighting stages, areas of interest, and potential impacts.<\/li>\n<li>Tracking\u00a0progress of bills, proposed amendments, and scheduled tabling dates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Policy Research\u00a0&amp; Advocacy Support<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewing\u00a0bills and policies discussed by sector boards, drafting memoranda, and\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0incorporating feedback for submission to parliamentary committees or ministries.<\/li>\n<li>Attending\u00a0parliamentary committee sittings, sector board meetings, and ministerial\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0forums to deepen understanding of legal and policy issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Judiciary\u00a0Engagement<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Supporting\u00a0coordination of Judiciary Round Table meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting in training initiatives for courts on private sector perspectives in judicial processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Governance and Legal Support<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate activities of the Governance and Leadership Board Committee.<\/li>\n<li>Provide general legal support, including review of Memoranda of Understanding with partners and related documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Qualifications<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently pursuing\u00a0or recently completed a\u00a0<b>Law degree (LLB)<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interest\u00a0in\u00a0<b>policy, legislation, and private sector advocacy<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent\u00a0research, writing, and analytical skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work\u00a0independently and collaboratively in a fast\u2011paced environment.<\/li>\n<li>Strong\u00a0communication and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":604944,"template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_promoted":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_job_salary_unit":"","_job_how_to_apply":""},"job_listing_region":[209],"job-categories":[375],"job-types":[6],"class_list":{"0":"post-850130","1":"job_listing","2":"type-job_listing","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","5":"hentry","6":"job_listing_region-nairobi","7":"job_listing_category-law","8":"job_listing_type-internship","10":"job-type-internship"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job-listings\/850130","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job-listings"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/job_listing"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/604944"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=850130"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"job_listing_region","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job_listing_region?post=850130"},{"taxonomy":"job_listing_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job-categories?post=850130"},{"taxonomy":"job_listing_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/campusbiz.co.ke\/careers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job-types?post=850130"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
