Are you a recent graduate with a sharp analytical mind and a passion for financial integrity? We are looking for a Risk and Compliance Intern to help identify, assess and report risks across our microfinance institutions.<\/p>\n

In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure in risk management and regulatory compliance by supporting Key Risk Indicator (KRI) dashboards, tracking fraud trends, and assisting with Environmental & Social Risk Management (ESMS). You will collaborate across departments to ensure our internal controls remain robust and effective.<\/p>\n

Job Summary<\/h4>\n

The Risk & Compliance Intern will support the Risk & Compliance function in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting risks across the microfinance institution, while gaining practical exposure to risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.<\/p>\n

JOB PURPOSE<\/h4>\n

To support the Risk & Compliance function in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting risks across the microfinance institution, while gaining practical exposure to risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.<\/p>\n

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Support the maintenance and updating of Key Risk Indicator (KRI) dashboards on a monthly basis.<\/li>\n
  2. Support tracking of the company risk profile, including trend analysis and escalation of emerging risks.<\/li>\n
  3. Assist in the monthly update of Country Risk Dashboards and consolidation of risk information, and support the preparation of quarterly country risk summaries.<\/li>\n
  4. Assist in maintaining an up-to-date fraud risk register and tracking fraud-related indicators, fraud trends and control effectiveness for reporting purposes.<\/li>\n
  5. Support the coordination and documentation of quarterly in-country fraud collaborative meetings.<\/li>\n
  6. Environmental & Social Risk Management (ESMS): Support quarterly reviews of Environmental and Social (E&S) risk ratings within the loan portfolio; and Assist in verifying the accuracy and completeness of E&S risk data and documentation.<\/li>\n
  7. Regulatory Compliance: Support monthly tracking of regulatory, audit, and supervisory findings, including remediation status and closure.<\/li>\n
  8. Support the preparation of risk and compliance reports, dashboards, and presentations,<\/li>\n
  9. Assist in documenting risk processes, methodologies, and control improvements,<\/li>\n
  10. Provide general analytical and administrative support to the Risk & Compliance function.<\/li>\n
  11. Keep abreast with the applicable laws, regulations, rules and standards in risk to inform policy, management decision and best practice.<\/li>\n
  12. Track the progress of remediation of control weaknesses identified by internal audits, self-testing or control assessments and follow up on the implementation of external audit recommendations and management actions in conjunction with Internal Audit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE<\/h4>\n

    1. Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration, or any other related field from a recognized institution.<\/li>\n
    2. Any professional certification is an added advantage.<\/li>\n
    3. Minimum level of experience required to perform effectively in the role<\/li>\n
    4. Recent graduates seeking practical exposure in risk management, compliance, or financial services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
