Kenya Power Pension Fund (KPPF) provides benefits and pension for all permanent and pensionable employees of Kenya Power, Ketraco and Nupea companies. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/h4>\n

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Investment Officer, the intern will be exposed to the below among other areas:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Measurement and evaluation of return on investment trends that may affect the investment portfolio.<\/li>\n
  • Review and analysis of the investment portfolio and guiding management on future investment decision making.<\/li>\n
  • Review of the fund managers\u2019 investment plans and provision of advice on market trends and market risk.<\/li>\n
  • Undertaking research on the existing investment portfolio and on new investments<\/li>\n
  • Analyzing financial information relating to specific companies, e.g. company results, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements to determine how an organization is positioned to deliver investment.<\/li>\n
  • Keeping up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other areas that can affect the markets, e.g. movements in the economies of relevant countries.<\/li>\n
  • Carrying out the monitoring & evaluation of investment portfolio returns.<\/li>\n
  • Investment trends & scenario analysis and development of scenario models.<\/li>\n
  • Management and storage of department data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/h4>\n

    Education<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Bachelors Degree or an equivalent in bachelor of commerce (accounting\/finance option) from accredited and recognized institution.<\/li>\n
    • Bachelors Degree or an equivalent in bachelor of science (actuarial science with it) from accredited and recognized institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred areas of studies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Business Related field e.g. Finance, Commerce, Economics, Statistics etc.<\/li>\n
      • IT & Numerical skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Competencies and traits<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including ability to build collaborative relationships with sensitivity to diversity\/inclusion.<\/li>\n
        • Creativity and innovation skills.<\/li>\n
        • Action oriented and demonstrated ability to manage priorities<\/li>\n
