You will help deliver general food distributions, cash\u2011based transfers and home\u2011grown school feeding while driving a transition from humanitarian aid to sustainable livelihood initiatives for refugees and host communities. Based in Turkana County, the role provides hands\u2011on experience in programme design, stakeholder coordination, asset monitoring and community engagement, reporting to the Head of Programme. Open to Kenyan nationals who have completed a degree in international relations, social sciences, nutrition or a related field and who are fluent in English and Swahili. The programme offers graduate students an opportunity to gain professional exposure in their respective fields of study and specialization, both within programme areas and across various offices in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Country Office is now seeking to select<b>\u00a0Interns for Cohort 3, 2026<\/b>, for an\u00a0<b>eight-month\u00a0<\/b>programme with opportunities in both Field Offices and the Nairobi Office. For Field Office placements, priority will be given to candidates from the surrounding local communities to enhance impact.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intern - Programme, Kakuma\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The intern will assist in the delivery of core humanitarian services including General Food Distributions (GFD), Cash-Based Transfers (CBT), and Home-Grown School Feeding while actively contributing to the \"Changing Lives Project.\" By anchoring their work in sector-based frameworks, they will help facilitate the shift from humanitarian dependency toward a development nexus, ensuring that food assistance reaches the most vulnerable while fostering long-term economic resilience for both refugees and host communities.<\/p>\n<h4>Key Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the design and implementation of livelihood activities in Kakuma and Kalobeyei refugee camp.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the area-based programme activities in Turkana County.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor project sites and consolidate field reports.<\/li>\n<li>Support project participant mapping and targeting.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct physical verification and keep inventory of WFP self-reliance assets.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate key stakeholders\u2019 meetings and prepare minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute innovative ideas to enhance efficiency and delivery of programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Support in developing training content<\/li>\n<li>Participate in community engagement activities with project stakeholders to promote ownership.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to strengthening private sector engagements on key value chains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Expected Outcomes:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Gain exposure to humanitarian and development nexus programming in protracted refugee situations.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen skills in partnership management and coordination of stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>The Intern will be deployed in the programme unit reporting directly to the head of programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Qualifications Required:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Education<\/b>: A recent graduate (within the last 6 months) with a bachelor's in international relations, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Nutrition, Economics, Statistics or another related field.<\/li>\n<li><b>Language<\/b>: Fluency in Oral and written English and local language.<\/li>\n<li><b>Computer literacy<\/b><b>:<\/b>\u00a0Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Duration of Internship:<\/b>\u00a08 months<\/p>\n<h4>WHY JOIN WFP?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>WFP is a 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.<\/li>\n<li>WFP offers a highly inclusive, diverse, and multicultural working environment.<\/li>\n<li>WFP invests in the personal &amp;
