JOB PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Clerk will ensure that all the trucks are checked to client\u2019s protocols. Also, to ensure the process is executed in a safe, efficient manner and all necessary documentation and data is in place and in line with the objectives of the Business Unit and any other duties as per management's discretion.<\/p>\n

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • Analyze and understand health and safety related risks for drivers - both own fleet and subcontracted, take action to reduce or eliminate these risks.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure always safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment<\/li>\n
  • Ensure compliance to the drivers, understand, and comply to all site rules and regulations<\/li>\n
  • Check and verified goods are well stacked as per truck on a proper wooded pallet before loading the truck.<\/li>\n
  • Count and reconcile all packages being loaded in a truck.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure truck is properly sealed before dispatch.<\/li>\n
  • Timely escalate any issues arising to the truck on duty or engage the Transport Lead.<\/li>\n
  • Ensuring all trucks are loaded accurately as per order quantity<\/li>\n
  • Supervise loading and offloading process<\/li>\n
  • Ensure driver is issued with all relevant documents i.e. ERN\/GRN and Hauler Copy<\/li>\n
  • Ensuring that all drivers hand in their PODs within the set times and any notable issue reported \/captured immediately<\/li>\n
  • Ensure all non-conforming goods\/product do not get loaded into the truck i.e. Shots\/breakages<\/li>\n
  • Provides feedback channels for drivers - both own and subcontracted to enable active contribution to the improvement and development of the operation<\/li>\n
  • Assist in supervising the drivers to ensure they actively support the loading process and queue\/dock of trucks to gain access into NCD loading\/offloading bays immediately they are called upon<\/li>\n
  • Have the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment, communicate information clearly incase of any delays from clients in loading products \/offloading empties.<\/li>\n
  • Record and maintain data related to the day's work load.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure goods are well placed in the trucks and sealed<\/li>\n
  • Always ensure cartons and pallet conform to the standards required and free from damages<\/li>\n
  • Follow instructions and prioritize tasks based on production and shipping schedules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND TRAITS<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • High school\/secondary education<\/li>\n
    • Data Clerical work experience<\/li>\n
    • Diploma\/Certificate in Logistics\/Freight Forwarding and Purchasing & Supply Chain \u2013 Desirable<\/li>\n
    • University Graduate - Desirable<\/li>\n
    • Holder of a valid driving license \u2013 Desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Flexibility to work in shift patterns<\/li>\n
      • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Specific skills and competency<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • The ability to load stocks that conform to the required standards, reconcile stocks, document preparation, multi-task and customer knowledge.<\/li>\n
        • Good analytical and numerical skills<\/li>\n
        • Excellent communicator (verbal & written)<\/li>\n
        • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft office suite<\/li>\n
