At TakaTaka Solutions, We collect your waste like every other waste collector, but, instead of taking it to a landfill, we take it to our own sites, where we sort the waste, and then recycle 95% either ourselves or through our local partners. This represents one of the highest recycling rates in the world.<\/p>\n

Internship- Accounts Receivables<\/strong><\/p>\n

Purpose of the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Accounts Receivable Intern will support the Finance Department in receivables, ensuring timely invoicing, accurate record-keeping, and effective follow-up on outstanding payments. The role offers hands-on experience in financial operations within a dynamic recycling and waste management company.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0This internship is for a period of three (3) months and has the possibility of confirmation into a contractual role based on performance, discipline, and demonstrated capability.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h4>\n

Invoicing & Billing<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Assist in preparing and issuing customer invoices accurately and on time.<\/li>\n
  • Verify billing data against service delivery reports and contracts.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of all invoices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Receivables Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Support in tracking outstanding invoices and preparing aging reports.<\/li>\n
    • Follow up with customers on overdue payments through calls and emails.<\/li>\n
    • Assist in reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Record Keeping & Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Maintain updated and organized receivables records (physical and digital).<\/li>\n
      • Post payments received into the accounting system accurately.<\/li>\n
      • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly AR reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Reconciliation & Reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Support bank reconciliations related to receivables.<\/li>\n
        • Assist in preparing customer statements.<\/li>\n
        • Provide support during audits by retrieving relevant documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Compliance & Internal Controls<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.<\/li>\n
          • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.<\/li>\n
          • Support process improvements within the receivables function.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Qualifications & Requirements<\/h4>\n

            Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Bachelor\u2019s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.<\/li>\n
            • KCSE\/KCPE Grade B- and above is a must.<\/li>\n
            • CPA Part I or II will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • No prior experience required (fresh graduates encouraged to apply).<\/li>\n
              • Basic exposure to accounting systems or ERP software is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Technical Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  \n
                • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.<\/li>\n
                • Basic understanding of accounting principles.<\/li>\n
                • Ability to prepare and interpret simple financial reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
