Our key thematic areas of intervention focus on: Health and Nutrition, Water Sanitation, Food security, Resilience, Climate Change and Climate Action, Livelihood, peacebuilding, Education, Socio-Economic Development, Capacity Strengthening of local CSOs, and Youth empowerment and youth meaningful participation, Gender issues, Child protection and environmental sustainability are mainstreamed in all our actions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title<\/strong>: Communications Intern - Nairobi (1 Position)<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to<\/strong>: Communication, Advocacy &amp; Fundraising Coordinator<br \/>\n<strong>Job Location<\/strong>: Nairobi, Kenya with possible missions to field offices<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Details<\/strong>: 6-month Internship (renewable subject to performance and funding availability)<\/p>\n<h4>Job Duties and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<p>Under the line management of the Communication, Advocacy &amp; Fundraising Coordinator, the Communications Intern will support the implementation of communication, advocacy, and visibility activities. In particular, the intern will perform the following tasks:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Content Development &amp; Digital Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the creation of communication materials (articles, success stories, social media posts, newsletters, and infographics).<\/li>\n<li>Assist in managing the Kenya content calendar and LinkedIn page.<\/li>\n<li>Support implementation of digital campaigns aligned with project objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in drafting website content in coordination with HQ Communications team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Documentation &amp; Media Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support photo and video documentation in the field, ensuring proper consent procedures are followed.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and archive photos, videos, and communication materials on SharePoint in line with WeWorld guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare IEC and visibility materials for projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Advocacy &amp; Events Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support planning and implementation of awareness campaigns, workshops, and public events.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in documenting key project milestones, lessons learned, and best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure brand compliance in all communication outputs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Reporting &amp; Coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in preparing internal communication reports and activity summaries.<\/li>\n<li>Support coordination with HQ communications focal points when required.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other communication-related tasks assigned by the supervisor or country director.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Minimum Education, Qualifications &amp; Experience Required<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, or related field.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, social media platforms).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous internship or volunteer experience in communications, media, or NGOs is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in content creation, or social media management is desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Skills and Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.<\/li>\n<li>Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva or Adobe tools).<\/li>\n<li>Creativity and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multicultural environment.<\/li>\n<li>Basic photography and videography skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Additional Experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with INGOs or community-based organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in gender equality, child protection, and development communication.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding branding and digital engagement trends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High level of integrity and professionalism.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn and take initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work both independently and in a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":622310,"template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_promoted":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_job_salary_unit":"","_job_how_to_apply":"<p>Interested candidates who meet the above requirements should send a detailed CV and Cover Letter with the subject line: \"<strong>Communications Intern - Nairobi<\/strong>\" by <strong>28th February 2026<\/strong>.
