Job Purpose<\/h4>\n

To be responsible for creating a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favourable to learning and personal growth; this is aimed at ultimately developing strong, ethical, community centred female leaders of tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • Teach: Mathematics and Science,<\/li>\n
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.<\/li>\n
  • Provide individualised and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.<\/li>\n
  • Create and use variety of instruction strategies,<\/li>\n
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences.<\/li>\n
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.<\/li>\n
  • Evaluate students\u2019 academic and social growth.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare progress reports and keep records.<\/li>\n
  • Communicate with parents on students\u2019 progress.<\/li>\n
  • Interpret the school program.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.<\/li>\n
  • Create an effective environment for learning.<\/li>\n
  • Select or requisition books and instructional aids.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain required inventory records.<\/li>\n
  • Supervise and support students in and out-of-classroom activities.<\/li>\n
  • Set and administer quality tests in accordance with school and national testing program.<\/li>\n
  • Participate in curriculum development programs as required.<\/li>\n
  • Participate in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.<\/li>\n
  • Attend remedial classes as advised by the school administration.<\/li>\n
  • Receive learners from home and see them off after school.<\/li>\n
  • Offering pastoral care to candidates when called upon to do so.<\/li>\n
  • Step in for a colleague in case of absence.<\/li>\n
  • Participate in school\u2019s policy-making processes.<\/li>\n
  • Adequately support new teachers to settle in when asked to do so.<\/li>\n
  • Carrying out any other roles assigned by the administration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
