Program Overview:<\/h4>\n
Digital Inclusion Intern<\/strong><\/p>\nReporting\/Supervisor:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Systems Development and Partnerships Manager<\/p>\nTechnoServe is implementing the 3-year BlueBiz program to equip young people in Kenya\u2019s Blue Economy with skills in enterprise development, financial literacy, and soft skills. The program addresses barriers young men and women face in starting and growing micro-enterprises by tackling challenges like skills development, access to finance, technology, and markets while fostering local leadership.<\/p>\n
Operating in Kenya's five coastal counties (Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, and Lamu), BlueBiz collaborates with four local partners per county, leveraging their insights to tailor activities. The program will engage local stakeholders, including Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), the private sector, and the government, to create economic opportunities for youth, train local business service providers, and build the capacity of local actors to support sustainable business models.<\/p>\n
Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\nThe Digital Inclusion Intern will be accountable for the day-to-day management of all digital learning platforms. The role holder will collaborate closely with all project delivery functions to identify systems and processes that can be \u2018digitized' on the program, including application management and curriculum content, training delivery, data collection and monitoring and evaluation, and communication within the program and with local organizations. In addition, the holder will provide advisory support to local organizations on the most effective digital tools to improve the efficiency of their systems. Of prime interest is the holder\u2019s ability to understand how young people in the coastal economy obtain, digest, and act on information, through digital means, and translate this information into measurable behavior change.<\/p>\n
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:<\/h4>\n
1. Digital Content Development Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \u00a0Assist in drafting and editing simple, easy-to-understand training content for entrepreneurs.<\/li>\n
- \u00a0Support script writing for digital learning videos and recorded sessions.<\/li>\n
- \u00a0Help simplify business concepts for low-literacy audiences.<\/li>\n
- \u00a0Translate or adapt content into clear, practical language (including Swahili where necessary).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
2.\u00a0 Learning Management System (TalentLMS) Administration Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \u00a0Upload the training materials to the LMS.<\/li>\n
- \u00a0Format quizzes, assignments, and learning modules.<\/li>\n
- \u00a0Support learner enrollment and basic troubleshooting.<\/li>\n
- \u00a0Track learner progress and prepare simple participation reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
3. Chatbot & AI Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \u00a0Assist in organizing and cleaning training data for chatbot improvement.<\/li>\n
