Junior Web Developer Consultant (Fixed Term role)<\/strong><\/p>\n

About the role<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a consulting role where you\u2019ll work closely with our creative, software, corporate communications and carbon teams to maintain and enhance BURN\u2019s corporate website and other digital platforms. You\u2019ll handle both front-end and back-end development tasks, support integrations, optimize performance, and help ensure our website stays fast, secure, and user-friendly.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re looking for someone who can bring technical expertise, creativity, and a collaborative attitude to the team. The role is on-site three days per week, with the rest flexible for remote work.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • Front-End Development\n
      \n
    • Build and maintain responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using React\/Next.js.<\/li>\n
    • Turn design wireframes and mock-ups into functional web components.<\/li>\n
    • Ensure a consistent look and feel across the site and other digital platforms.<\/li>\n
    • Optimize front-end performance and loading speed across devices and browsers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Back-End Development\n
          \n
        • Develop server-side functionality and APIs to power dynamic website features.<\/li>\n
        • Work with databases to manage data efficiently and securely.<\/li>\n
        • Support server-side rendering and handle back-end tasks like form processing and authentication.<\/li>\n
        • Ensure best practices for security, scalability, and data integrity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Digital Platform Support\n
              \n
            • Integrate third-party services such as Google Tag Manager, analytics tools, and other marketing platforms.<\/li>\n
            • Assist in implementing tracking, reporting, and performance monitoring tools.<\/li>\n
            • Help maintain web-based platforms or tools used by our teams and partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              • Collaboration & Communication\n
                  \n
                • Work closely with designers, marketers, and product managers to turn ideas into functional features.<\/li>\n
                • Contribute to discussions about digital storytelling, website updates, and platform improvements.<\/li>\n
                • Maintain organized code repositories, documentation, and asset libraries.<\/li>\n
                • Support external developers or agencies when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Skills and Experience<\/h4>\n
                    \n
                  • 1\u20133 years of experience in web development (full stack preferred).<\/li>\n
                  • Strong proficiency in\u00a0JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Experience with\u00a0React and Next.js.<\/li>\n
                  • Familiarity with\u00a0Node.js or another server-side environment.<\/li>\n
                  • Experience with\u00a0REST APIs and integrating third-party services.<\/li>\n
                  • Knowledge of\u00a0responsive and mobile-first web design.<\/li>\n
                  • Comfortable with\u00a0Git or other version control systems.<\/li>\n
                  • Experience deploying apps with\u00a0Vercel.<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Familiarity with\u00a0headless CMS or modern content platforms.<\/li>\n
                  • Knowledge of\u00a0SEO and web performance optimization.<\/li>\n
                  • Some exposure to\u00a0UI\/UX tools like Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.<\/li>\n
                  • Problem-solver with attention to detail.<\/li>\n
                  • Collaborative and communicative \u2014 you can work well with cross-functional teams.<\/li>\n
                  • Eager to learn and take initiative.<\/li>\n
