Matibabu Foundation is a registered health facility and community health organization based in Siaya County, Kenya. Our mandate is to improve the quality, affordability, and accessibility of healthcare, with a particular focus on women, children, and families. We achieve this through integrated facility-based care, outreach programmes, laboratory, and pharmaceutical services.<\/p>\n

We are hereby inviting qualified, talented and highly motivated candidates to fill the following positions.<\/p>\n

Position<\/strong>: Accounting Interns
\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Ukwala, Siaya County
\nOrganization:<\/strong>\u00a0Matibabu Foundation
\nReports to:<\/strong>\u00a0Hospital Accountant<\/p>\n

Overall Responsibility<\/h4>\n

Reporting to the Hospital Accountant, Accountant (Intern) is responsible for receiving and disbursing cash and accounting for all monies spent (involving cheques, vouchers, cash, electronic, credit and\/or debt cards) and providing outstanding and friendly service in the interface and interactions with customers. S\/he will ensure that enquiries from patients\/visitors are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the partners and patients\/visitors.<\/p>\n

Other Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Receive payment by cash, cheque, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.<\/li>\n
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.<\/li>\n
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate float for change.<\/li>\n
  • Observe and adhere to cash handling procedures, policies and\/ or administrative requirements with respect to infection prevention and control, health and safety measures and emergency procedures.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure that basic safety measures are in place for the money collected and to be collected<\/li>\n
  • Prepare, organize and arrange all collected money for banking<\/li>\n
  • Resolve customer complaints and respond adequately to patient\u2019s and customers\u2019 questions that relate to cash transactions.<\/li>\n
  • Keep accurate financial records and documentation of relevant patient\/customer information.<\/li>\n
  • Compile reports in line with established requirements and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Requirements<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Diploma in Accounting<\/li>\n
    • At least CPA section 1 with 3 years\u2019 experience preferably in a hospital billing in a busy hospital environment<\/li>\n
    • Excellent computer skills<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
