Apply now for a 3-6 month internship starting May 2026 and help shape the future of SRHR in Africa.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to-policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development.<\/p>\n<p>The Center, through its Research and Related Capacity Strengthening (RRCS) Division, seeks to strengthen individual and institutional research capacity to enable African researchers to fully participate in defining and implementing priority population and health programs on \u00a0 the continent. As part of individual capacity strengthening efforts, APHRC has, over the years, been running a demand-driven research internship program whose objective seeks to nurture talented young Africans to become future scholars and research leaders.<\/p>\n<p>For the 2026 period, the Research and Related Capacity Strengthening (RRCS) Division has opened internship opportunities in the following projects for 3-6 months, starting May 2026.<\/p>\n<h4>Project 9 \u2013 Packard Foundation Grant (Repositing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Africa) \u2013 (1 intern)<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Project Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The project aims to broaden the understanding of the SRHR landscape in Africa by investigating the effects of funding disruptions on the availability and accessibility of SRHR services in Africa and generate evidence on shifts in SRHR narratives and anti-SRHR rights towards strengthening the partnerships and networks that work to improve universal access to SRHR services in the region. <strong>Internship Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the qualitative data collection.<\/li>\n<li>Support literature\/scoping review activities in the study.<\/li>\n<li>Field supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Support report writing and other research outputs, including manuscripts and presentations, among others.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with assigned supervisor to provide frequent project updates and reports etc.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to policy engagement and strategic planning as may be needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Background &amp; Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in sociology, anthropology, public health, epidemiology, and other related fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":604261,"template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_promoted":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_job_salary_unit":"","_job_how_to_apply":"<p>The application process has\u00a0<strong>two steps<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>: complete a short online survey by clicking\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdiEd1bWje7MeIzqlaxFqQOn0BNIHnqCA88dJVDKO9AVfB_Jg\/viewform?usp=dialog\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong>: Send the following as\u00a0<strong>one PDF<\/strong>\u00a0containing:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Your curriculum vitae (2 pages max)<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Your certificate of completed undergraduate degree or master\u2019s degree.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Other certificate(s) that may be relevant for your internship application.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>1-2 letters of recommendation (each 1-page max, and one of them must be from a previous or current academic supervisor) supporting your suitability for the internship.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>The document is to be sent via email to <strong>aphrctraining@aphrc.org<\/strong> with \u201c<strong>2026 INTERNSHIP\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0as the subject line of the email.\u00a0<strong>Incomplete or late applications will not be considered<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>The deadline for the applications is\u00a0<strong>APRIL 13, 2026<\/strong>.
