Apply now and help shape the future of SRHR research!<\/p>\n<p>The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to-policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development.<\/p>\n<p>The Center, through its Research and Related Capacity Strengthening (RRCS) Division, seeks to strengthen individual and institutional research capacity to enable African researchers to fully participate in defining and implementing priority population and health programs on \u00a0 the continent. As part of individual capacity strengthening efforts, APHRC has, over the years, been running a demand-driven research internship program whose objective seeks to nurture talented young Africans to become future scholars and research leaders.<\/p>\n<p>For the 2026 period, the Research and Related Capacity Strengthening (RRCS) Division has opened internship opportunities in the following projects for 3-6 months, starting May 2026.<\/p>\n<h4>Project 13 \u2013 Addressing the Neglected Areas of Sexual and Reproductive Health \u2013 (1 intern)<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Project Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Addressing Neglected Areas of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa (ANeSA) initiative supports greater realization of critical sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) by underserved and marginalized populations in sub-Saharan Africa. The initiative\u2019s overall aim is to support greater realization of neglected SRHR by underserved populations in sub- Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>ANeSA\u2019s specific objectives are to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Increase capacity to collaboratively generate evidence on the implementation of gender- transformative SRHR interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Increase availability and mobilization of evidence on the implementation of gender- transformative SRHR interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Increase \u00a0demand \u00a0by \u00a0decision-makers \u00a0for \u00a0evidence \u00a0on \u00a0gender-transformative \u00a0SRHR interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen the use of evidence to advocate for the promotion of SRHR, especially among underserved populations, including women and girls, and organizations that serve them strengthen the use of evidence to hold communities, governments and other key stakeholders accountable \u00a0for \u00a0the \u00a0promotion \u00a0of \u00a0SRHR, \u00a0especially \u00a0among underserved \u00a0populations, including women and girls, and organizations that serve them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Internship Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support a situational analysis of the neglected areas of sexual and reproductive health in East and Southern Africa.
