You will support the ICT department by providing technical assistance to staff, maintaining hardware and software, and aiding in network administration. This role also involves assisting with data backups, cybersecurity measures, and website support. If you are a recent Kenyan graduate with a degree in a relevant field and eager to gain hands-on experience, we encourage you to apply to join the County Assembly's ICT team.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The County Assembly of Bungoma, in pursuance of its mandate in youth empowerment and human resource development, invites applications from suitably qualified Kenyan graduates for its Internship Programme for the Financial Year 2025\/2026.<\/p>\n<p>This programme is a strategic initiative designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice, equipping young Kenyans with hands-on experience while contributing to the operational effectiveness of the Assembly. Successful candidates will be mentored by seasoned professionals across various departments and will gain invaluable exposure to the legislative, administrative, and support functions of a constitutional institution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REF<\/strong>: CASB\/HR\/INT\/VOL.I\/2026<br \/>\n<strong>Position Title<\/strong>: Intern \u2013 Information &amp; Communication Technology (ICT)<br \/>\n<strong>Department \/ Section<\/strong>: ICT Department<br \/>\n<strong>Number of Positions<\/strong>: 3<br \/>\n<strong>Duration<\/strong>: Twelve (12) Months \u2013 Non-Renewable<br \/>\n<strong>Grade: <\/strong>Intern<br \/>\n<strong>Reports To<\/strong>: ICT Officer \/ Head of ICT<br \/>\n<strong>Working Hours<\/strong>: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM \u2013 5:00 PM<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Purpose of the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support the ICT department of the County Assembly in the administration, maintenance and support of information systems, network infrastructure, hardware and software, ensuring the seamless availability and security of the Assembly's digital environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Minimum Qualifications &amp; Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a Kenyan citizen aged between 18 and 35 years.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.<\/li>\n<li>Must have completed studies within the last two (2) years.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in network administration, systems support or software development is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection frameworks is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with open-source technologies or GoK ICT standards is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Recommendation \/ Introduction Letter from the institution of learning is mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide first-line technical support to Assembly staff including troubleshooting hardware, software and network connectivity issues.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware, operating systems and application software.<\/li>\n<li>Support network administration tasks including monitoring of the local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi access points, switches and routers.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the management and backup of the Assembly's data and digital systems to ensure continuity and data integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Support the implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity measures including antivirus deployment, patch management and access control.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in maintaining an updated ICT asset register, including all hardware, software licences and peripherals.<\/li>\n<li>Support the administration and maintenance of the Assembly's website and intranet platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in developing or customising simple software solutions, scripts or databases to support departmental workflows.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support during plenary sittings, committee meetings, public participation forums and official Assembly events.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties assigned by the ICT Officer within the scope of the ICT department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4.
