Successful candidates will be mentored by seasoned professionals across various departments and will gain invaluable exposure to the legislative, administrative, and support functions of a constitutional institution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REF<\/strong>: CASB\/HR\/INT\/VOL.I\/2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Title<\/strong>: Intern \u2013 Technician (Plumbing)<br \/>\n<strong>Department \/ Section<\/strong>: Facilities Management \/ Engineering Services<br \/>\n<strong>Number of Positions<\/strong>: 1<br \/>\n<strong>Duration<\/strong>: Twelve (12) Months \u2013 Non-Renewable<br \/>\n<strong>Grade: <\/strong>Intern<br \/>\n<strong>Reports To<\/strong>: Principal Administration Officer \/ Works Officer<br \/>\n<strong>Working Hours<\/strong>: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM \u2013 5:00 PM<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Purpose of the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support the Facilities Management function of the County Assembly in the maintenance, inspection and repair of plumbing systems, water supply installations and sanitation facilities within Assembly premises, ensuring a safe, functional and compliant working environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Minimum Qualifications &amp; Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a Kenyan citizen aged between 18 and 35 years.<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in Plumbing and Water Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution.<\/li>\n<li>Must have completed studies within the last two (2) years.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience in plumbing installations or maintenance is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Kenya's water and sanitation regulations and standards is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>A valid certificate of competence from the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) or equivalent body is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Recommendation \/ Introduction Letter from the institution of learning is mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inspect, repair and maintain plumbing systems including water supply pipes, drainage systems, taps, valves, cisterns and sanitary ware within Assembly premises.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and diagnose plumbing faults, leaks, blockages and system failures and undertake timely corrective repairs.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the installation and commissioning of new plumbing fixtures and sanitation facilities as required.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor water meter readings and report anomalies indicative of leakages or wastage to the Facilities Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a proper log of all plumbing maintenance activities, repairs undertaken and materials used.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in carrying out routine preventive maintenance schedules for all plumbing and water systems within the Assembly.<\/li>\n<li>Support the procurement and management of plumbing spare parts, tools and materials, ensuring proper custody and accountability.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and applicable occupational health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with external contractors or service providers for specialised plumbing works as directed by the Facilities Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties assigned by the Facilities Manager within the scope of Facilities Maintenance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4.
