CMA is hiring an Intern-Commodities in Nairobi. You will support the development of Kenya's capital markets by assisting with policy formulation, research, and stakeholder engagement. This role involves gathering information for studies, aiding in demand assessments, and providing logistical support for capacity-building programs. The Capital Markets Authority is a statutory agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and developing an efficient capital market in Kenya. The Authority invites applications for the following position:<\/p>\n

INTERN-COMMODITIES - 1 POSITION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Internship Period<\/strong>: 1 year (non-renewable)<\/p>\n

Your Role<\/h4>\n

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Commodities, the selected candidate will be responsible for:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Liaising with the stakeholders to support value addition initiatives through policy and regulation formulation;<\/li>\n
  2. Undertaking on-desk studies and provide information to support research to inform formulation of policies and regulations to aid in development of the Commodities Markets, Virtual Assets Markets and Carbon Credit Markets in Kenya;<\/li>\n
  3. Supporting demand assessment initiatives in relation to products contracts to inform choice of contracts to be traded to inform prioritization;<\/li>\n
  4. Providing logistical support and reports writing to internal and external capacity building programs; and<\/li>\n
  5. Supporting initiatives on the development of draft relevant guidelines on design and development of contracts for Commodities Markets, Virtual Assets Markets and Carbon Credit Markets.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience<\/h4>\n

    A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Policy, Social Sciences, ICT, Records, Library, Knowledge Management, Legal or relevant degree from a recognized and accredited institution;<\/p>\n

    Key skills, Knowledge & Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n

    a) Professional and personal integrity;
    \nb) Communication and interpersonal skills;
    \nc) Report writing skills; and,
