You'll teach and mentor students, contribute to curriculum development, and conduct impactful research. This role involves administrative duties, community engagement, and supervising academic work.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Department<\/strong>: Social of Humanities and Social Sciences<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting to<\/strong>: Academic Director<\/p>\n<p><strong>Basic job summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The job holder is responsible for teaching, research, consultancy, administration, supervision, mentoring and tutorial support to enable students maximize their potential.<\/p>\n<h4>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Teaching and Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The key tasks include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep abreast of developments in academic discipline and use this knowledge to shape and review the curriculum content design and delivery<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of teaching materials, class methodologies, teaching aids<\/li>\n<li>Teaching\/ instructing students<\/li>\n<li>Carry out and moderate both formative and summative assessments using a variety of methods and deliver appropriate feedback to students to support learning<\/li>\n<li>Approve and moderate examination results as part of the school board of examiners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The key tasks include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct research in relevant areas of expertise, and publish in peer reviewed and reputable journals<\/li>\n<li>Apply for grants through writing proposals for own research and scholarly projects<\/li>\n<li>Mentoring junior academic staff and promoting a research culture<\/li>\n<li>Attending and disseminating research output in local and international conferences (e.g., policy briefs, interviews etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The key tasks include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement strategic plans through setting goals, defining priorities, and aligning resources (including budgets) through leading academic hubs and committees<\/li>\n<li>Sit in academic staff recruitment panels when called upon. Provide guidance in the appointment and promotion process for academic staff<\/li>\n<li>Programme development, review, and assessment<\/li>\n<li>Represent the University in external clients, partners, and other stakeholder's engagements<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date students' records for their courses (course files)<\/li>\n<li>Sit in University and School committees when called upon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Community Engagements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out service to society activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Academic Qualifications:<\/h4>\n<p>Masters' Degree in area of specialization<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Minimum of 1-3 years' experience<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":605078,"template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_promoted":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_job_salary_unit":"","_job_how_to_apply":"<p>Are you qualified for this position and interested in working with us?
