Blooming Africa is a Kenya-based horticultural nursery and exporter located in Gilgil, specializing in growing and exporting high-quality cut flowers for the global market.<\/p>\n

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to manage financial operations for a crop project. The role involves tracking project costs, ensuring financial accountability, and supporting decision-making through accurate reporting.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Prepare and manage project budgets for production.<\/li>\n
  2. Monitor and control costs related to planting, inputs, labor, and harvesting.<\/li>\n
  3. Maintain accurate financial records specific to the project.<\/li>\n
  4. Conduct cost analysis and profitability reporting per crop cycle.<\/li>\n
  5. Oversee procurement records and ensure compliance with financial procedures.<\/li>\n
  6. Prepare periodic financial reports. (weekly, monthly, seasonal)<\/li>\n
  7. Support audits and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements.<\/li>\n
  8. Work closely with the General Manager to align financial planning with production targets.<\/li>\n
  9. Monitor inventory usage. (fertilizers, chemicals, bulbs, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    About you<\/h4>\n

    Experience, Qualification and desired competencies for the position:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field.<\/li>\n
    • CPA (K) or equivalent.<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 2 year experience in accounting, preferably in agriculture or horticulture.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in cost accounting or project accounting is an added advantage.<\/li>\n
    • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.<\/li>\n
