Apply to help strengthen emergency medical care across Kenya.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF) is an NGO that supports governments and emergency healthcare providers across Kenya to save lives by strengthening the emergency healthcare system through capacity building, knowledge development, advocacy and research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u200bMonitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a dedicated and analytical Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Officer at Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF) to play a critical role in ensuring that our initiatives strengthen Kenya\u2019s emergency healthcare system to save lives effectively and sustainably. This position will be instrumental in tracking the impact of EMKF\u2019s programs, fostering evidence-based decision-making, and driving a culture of continuous learning. Through robust MERL frameworks, the officer will enable EMKF to measure, learn, and enhance its transformative impact in improving emergency medical care in Kenya..<\/p>\n<h4>Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<p><b>1. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&amp;E):<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement M&amp;E frameworks and tools to assess the performance of EMKF programs and projects.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor program indicators to ensure activities align with EMKF\u2019s mission and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct evaluations to determine program effectiveness and generate actionable insights for improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>2. Data Collection and Management:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the collection and management of quantitative and qualitative data from EMKF programs.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation processes and adherence to ethical standards.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and enhance EMKF\u2019s databases and analytics systems to streamline data access and analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>3. Research and Learning:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead research initiatives that generate evidence to support EMKF\u2019s program development.<\/li>\n<li>Synthesise research findings into reports, learning briefs, and publications for internal and external use.<\/li>\n<li>Organise learning workshops to foster a culture of reflection and continuous improvement within EMKF.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>4. Data Analysis and Reporting:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct detailed data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for EMKF\u2019s programmatic growth.<\/li>\n<li>Develop clear and visually compelling reports, dashboards, and infographics to communicate program impacts.<\/li>\n<li>Present findings to EMKF leadership, partners, and other stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>5. Capacity Building:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Train EMKF staff, healthcare providers, and partners in M&amp;E and data management best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Support teams to enhance their skills in monitoring, evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with EMKF program teams, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to align MERL activities with program objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Engage with external researchers, evaluators, and consultants to ensure high-quality MERL outputs.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a focal point for MERL, fostering knowledge-sharing among partners and collaborators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>7. Continuous Improvement:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay updated on the latest MERL tools, methodologies, and best practices to refine EMKF\u2019s approaches.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and implement innovative MERL practices to enhance program impact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Requirements<\/h4>\n<p><b>1. Education, Experience, and Certification:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in a health-related or quantitative field (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, or Development Studies), with a Master\u2019s degree or professional certification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Research Methods, or a related field highly desirable.<\/li>\n<li>At least 1\u20133 years of professional research experience within the health, NGO, or development sector.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated authorship of at least three peer-reviewed or equivalent publications as a Primary (first) Author or Senior (last) Author is required. Applicants must provide evidence of these publications.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to design and manage end-to-end research processes, including study design, data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation, data analysis (e.g., SPSS, STATA, or R), or project management is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>2. Key Skills and Competencies:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Research Leadership &amp; Scientific Writing:<\/b>\u00a0Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to research studies, including study design, protocol development, and publication as a Primary (first) or Senior (last) Author.
