STATE DEPARTMENT FOR BROADCASTING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

INFORMATION OFFICER II - TWENTY (20) POSTS - V\/NO. 120\/2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Basic Salary Scale<\/strong>: Ksh 36,200 p.m - Ksh 47,900 p.m. (CSG 11)
\nHouse Allowance<\/strong>: Ksh 5,800 p.m. - Ksh 10,000 p.m.
\nCommuter Allowance<\/strong>: Ksh 4,000 p.m.
\nLeave allowance<\/strong>: As provided in the Civil Service
\nAnnual Leave<\/strong>: 30 working days per financial year
\nMedical Cover<\/strong>: As provided by the government
\nTerms of Service<\/strong>: Permanent and Pensionable<\/p>\n

Qualification Requirements<\/h4>\n

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-<\/p>\n

a Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication Studies, Media Studies, Photojournalism from a university recognized in Kenya;
\nOR<\/strong>
\na Bachelors Degree in Social Science with a Postgraduate Diploma in Photojournalism, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication Studies, Media Studies from a recognised institution; and<\/p>\n

Note: Possession of the following will be an added advantage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

(i) excellent oral and written communication skills;
\n(ii) multimedia communication skills;
\n(iii) an understanding of Artificial Intelligence;
\n(iv) social media management skills.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n

This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre. Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:<\/p>\n

(i) gathering, writing, verifying, translating and editing news, information and features; uploading content onto Kenya News Agency website and Information Resource Centres; and
