The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy is hiring ten Photojournalist\/Videographer II positions in Kenya at the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications. You will capture and process images, document events through photography, and provide technical darkroom services. This entry-level role also involves digitizing content, writing captions, and preparing photos for display. PHOTOJOURNALIST\/VIDEOGRAPHER II - TEN (10) POSTS - V\/NO. 122\/2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Basic Salary Scale<\/strong>: Ksh 36,200 p.m - Ksh 47,900 p.m. (CSG 11)
\nHouse Allowance<\/strong>: Ksh 5,800 p.m. - Ksh 10,000 p.m.
\nCommuter Allowance<\/strong>: Ksh 4,000 p.m.
\nLeave allowance<\/strong>: As provided in the Civil Service
\nAnnual Leave<\/strong>: 30 working days per financial year
\nMedical Cover<\/strong>: As provided by the government
\nTerms of Service<\/strong>: Permanent and Pensionable<\/p>\n

Qualification Requirements<\/h4>\n

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Photojournalism\/Photography from a university recognized in Kenya.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n

This will be the entry and training grade for degree holders in this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-<\/p>\n

(i) taking and processing of photographs;
\n(ii) documenting news, information and features through photography;
\n(iii) providing darkroom services;
\n(iv) scanning, digitizing photographs and caption writing;
\n(v) producing copy negatives;
\n(vi) taking portrait photographs; and
