As a Chemist II, you will perform water quality and pollution assessments through field and laboratory analyses, advise on water suitability, and implement measures to protect water resources. You will also maintain laboratory equipment and compile analytical data. If you have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field and are proficient in computer applications, we encourage you to apply to join the WRA team.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The Water Resources Authority is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, established as a corporate body under Section 11 of the Water Act (2016). WRA is designated under the Act as an agent of the National Government responsible for regulating the management and use of water resources.<\/p>\n<p>The Management of the Authority wishes to identify and recruit capable officers in the underlisted positions.<\/p>\n<p>This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a Senior Officer.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>V\/NO.11\/2026 - CHEMIST II <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WRA GRADE 8 \u2013 NINE (9) POSITIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5>Responsibilities<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Pollution Function<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The cadre is responsible for the undertaking of surface and ground water quality and pollution assessment and monitoring through field and bench laboratory analyses; and advise accordingly on the suitability of the water for various uses. The cadre also undertakes integrated measures to protect water resources from pollution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities will entail:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undertaking laboratory bench water and wastewater quality and pollution analyses;<\/li>\n<li>Tracking and documenting the water and wastewater analyses;<\/li>\n<li>Sorting and maintaining register of water and wastewater for disposal;<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining the water quality and pollution equipment and tools;<\/li>\n<li>Undertaking standardization and calibration of laboratory equipment;<\/li>\n<li>Compiling the water quality analytical data; and<\/li>\n<li>Compiling the wastewater quality and pollution data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Job Specifications<\/h5>\n<p>For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in any of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in computer applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":906064,"template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","_promoted":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_job_salary_unit":"","_job_how_to_apply":"<p>Candidates who meet the requirements for each of the positions should fill and submit the application form online in a typed format to be received on or before <strong>1st June 2026<\/strong>.
