These initiatives are delivered directly and in collaboration with local partners.<\/p>\n<p>We employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise the right of children and to ensure their voices are heard.<\/p>\n<p>We are working towards three breakthroughs in how the world treats children by 2030:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No child dies from preventable causes before their 5th birthday.<\/li>\n<li>All children learn from a quality basic education and that,<\/li>\n<li>Violence against children is no longer tolerated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role: Finance Assistant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support the ESARO Nairobi Office in strengthening and maintaining the integrity of finance systems, updating and generating timely financial information to senior managers, cash flow management, payroll administration and the smooth running of the finance department.<\/p>\n<p>This role will primarily focus on support operations of the SCI global team based in the East Africa Office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCOPE OF ROLE:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to: Finance Officer \u2013 Payroll and Payables RO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dimensions:<\/strong>\u00a0The SCI global office in East &amp; Southern Africa Region currently hosts slightly over 100 personnel. This role focuses on treasury and accounts payable functions of the RO office. It also provides support to the payables function of the Kenya Country Office.<\/p>\n<p>Our current programming focuses on child protection, child rights governance, education, health, HIV\/AIDS, livelihoods, nutrition, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staff directly reporting to this post:<\/strong>\u00a0 None<\/p>\n<h4>KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Regional Office\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform invoice reconciliation and ensure all invoices are properly checked for completeness, accuracy, budget codes etc.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare payment runs for review and approval in TM5. Ensure Tm5 payments are approved by the bank signatories in due course.<\/li>\n<li>Provide payment support services for the procurement CO medical supplies (outside ProSave). Review all medical supplies purchase packs to ensure completeness<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and post vouchers for the purchases of medical supplies.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare bank payment upload files including payroll for the bank signatories\u2019 approval<\/li>\n<li>Process travel advances and TER reports<\/li>\n<li>Process hosting fees charges for the staff hosted by the ESA RO to CO and Members<strong>*\u00a0<\/strong>\u2022\u00a0Post bank entries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a member of the Finance Team, assist in meeting its responsibilities in the following areas:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0a. Inductions<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Audit preparation \u2013 tracing documentation<\/li>\n<li>Review documents and ensure completeness.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure internal controls are maintained within the programme.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information and other support to Programme staff<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate degree in accounting\/finance or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>2 years of experience in an accounting\/finance role.
